Why Women say they would date Autistic men yet I never see such Couples?

It's one thing to say you would.

Most Women want guys who are independent, career oriented, smart , intelligent, mature or whatever.

I've never seen College girls, Women in their 30 or 40s, not even Highschool girls have Autistic or Developmental Disabled boyfriends or husbands.

And I see a lot a lot of women daily.

I know guys too don't date autistic girls for the most part but at least guys don't lie and say that they would.

1) How do you know who is autistic and who isn't when you're out and about? Unless they all wear a special shirt or have a sign around their neck, I'm pretty sure you don't know who's who and can't diagnose someone by how they look.

2) Just because they would date an autistic guy, they still have to come across one (and like him enough to date him). Autistic guys either have trouble putting themselves out there for dating or don't go about it in the smoothest ways. So it's not like an autistic guy is just owed a date because a girl said she would date an autistic guy or look beyond his autism.

I know two autistic people and they act really cold, Stern and mean.
Yes it's not their fault but that doesn't change the fact that the way they act is unsociable and makes people unable to date them.
And I don't know if those traits are for all autistic people I do only know two people who have it.

How would you know? Last I checked, you can't identify someone autistic just by looking at him.

Also, the subject of dating autistic men rarely come up in conversation, so why do you say 'women' in general would date them? Personally, I have NEVER had a conversation on the subject with ANYONE!

I dated an autistic woman. I liked her a lot, but society just wouldn't allow it to continue. Her behavior in public was affecting my own interpersonal relationship with the public. Otherwise, she seemed to love me for who I was, and that was enough for me.

Autistic people aren't stupid, and this woman was actually decently intelligent. They just think differently, and you have to be sensitive about that.
