My boyfriend is 27 and I'm 20. Is this a problem?

We've been dating for 6 months, never fight, and I get along with him better than i have with anyone.

Problem is he's 7 years older than me, and he is at that age where everyone is getting married or having kids, where I'm not even remotely ready to think about that. He's been married before, so he says he doesn't want to jump into that again at all, but then he'll tell me "He wants to get serious with me", and I know what he means by that.

Should I be worried? I'm conerned the age difference will come between us someday in the future

Don't worry about it! I'm 22 and my boyfriend of two years is 29 - when we met we were the same age as you and your guy. At the time I worried that our age gap would be a problem, but after being with him for so long and getting to know him well enough I'm realizing that age is just a number as long as both people are mature and the relationship is fun and healthy.

However, make sure you both have clear goals and plans for the future - you don't want to find out later that he wants kids and you don't, or that he wants to get married within a few years whereas you want to wait til you're his age. Those differences may be non-negotiable, so it's best to find them out now.

It would also be helpful for you to know what happened to make his marriage end so that you two can avoid going down that same path. Good luck :)

I wouldn't be too worried. He's already told you he wants to wait before thinking about marriage again, and given he's already been married, he's probably not going to rush you. I think by getting "serious with you" he just means that. He feels seriously, he doesn't want to be with anyone else, and he sees you in his future. If this is still more casual for you, then communicate that. But I don't think he's saying he plans to propose anytime soon.

He's the age I am now. Tbh with you there's a big difference between the beginning and the end of your 20's. I know a lot of guys my age see younger girls as "fresh" and easy to handle, with age and experience you know how to make them fall for you and have them think the relationship is genuine and that you're "not like other guys". So you get a hot young girlfriend who you can manipulate.
The generations are a bit different too, it's hard to get on with your girlfriends friends because they're like kids.
I think in reality it's actually quite a big gap, idealistically it's not.

Not really, u can easily have a good relation with an older guy if he is understanding and caring while u two talk about how things should be in the future

I don't see any problems here. He probably knows what he's doing and he's mature enough to know what he wants about marriage. Don't worry, if he's with you it's likely that he accepted it all.

No... met my future wife when she was 21 , me 28 , so same age gap , I did have a brief fling with a 33 yr old woman when I was 19 , which is generally much more unusual , as long as you are both happy then sod what others think !!!

it doesn't seem like a big deal to me but maybe ts cause it worked out with my parents. my dad is 22 years older than my mom and they seem so happy together!
