Boyfriend always and only talks about politics! I am done?

This been going on for a while and it is starting to effect the way I feel. I just feel disconnected to him. I wish we could talk about other stuff than politics... I also love talking politics sometimes but not everyday. And some of the things he says can be offensive and for him it is "funny" and only a joke, something I understand but he always looks at me to see if I react to his jokes. I don't.

3 years in a relationship and he is my everything... but lately it has been a lot!

I guess our communication isn't on point! What can I do? I want us to talk about other stuff than the same political topics!

some people don't see importancd in discussing anything else. Politics is central to everything so it could seem to them futile to try to pretend otherwise. And superfluous even if possible.

You guys may she just lost compatibility. Peopled do change he may have lost interst in chit chat. It's not for everyone. Talk to him honestly and see if he's changed or what. You might need to break up. Obviously you're unhappy as is. So you'll have to find out if this is as it will be.

This is nit complicated luckily. You know what you want and waht you dint want. So just talk it over and see waht can be done:)

I don't really know how to tell him this though without feeling like I am trying to change him. Which I am not. I just want us to communicate about other stuff like food, trips, us, friends, family, childhood. things that will bring us together and connect us!

Could it be the the political debates are happening now and as it gets closer to the election and there are fewer players to talk about, it'll diminish? Also, have you tried to Initiate another topic for discussion?

I live in Europe so I don't know even if we mainly talk about American politics most of the time, but maybe that is it... And that doesn't end before 2016...

Not really! I don't really know how to do that. Should I just cut him off when he brings up politics?

One day we had a date night where we asked each other questions about different things! It was fun, but it ended fast cause he wanted to talk about politics afterwards. Also I can be a bit shy, and I don't always know what to talk about...
