When a girl just cuts you off?

I *thought* we were friends, or at least more than acquaintances. I mean, you don't just go talking with someone for 4 months, texting each other every other day, remembering each others interviews and birthdays if you were just passerby, right?

Well, I guess I was wrong. In addition to all this, we hung out a little, more towards the end of those 4 months. But once school was over I never saw her again and when I tried to get her to come out and catch up, she made excuses.

And then final blow came: she told me she'd let me know and call me, but she never did.

So basically, I was treated like one of those random strangers you just meet. I never thought she'd do that to me and I thought she'd be straight up with me if she just didn't care about hanging out.

Since it's been a month since she's done that and even many more months since I last saw her, I'm resigned already that I need to let this go and continue with my life. I'm very disappointed though with the way things ended. I'm disappointed because she didn't care. Or didn't care enough about my feelings to be straight up.

I'm probably making this more of an issue than it really is, but that's because I don't have many friends (while she does). So a loss like this hurts.

Can a girl really just cut you off just like that? I mean, the only explanation I can think of is that she didn't really care about our friendship/relationship (which is hard to believe after all that stuff) or that she just found a guy (which I have reason to believe that I don't think she has).

Seriously, no one with a conscience is going to just come out and tell you that they didn't want to hang out with you. It's probably been an ongoing event where she would hang out with you even though she wasn't too interested. We all have that one friend that we don't necessarily like hanging around, we'll still be nice to them so we don't hurt their feelings, but underneath all of the smiling, we want to run away.

Just forget about her and find friends that have a lot of similarities with that enjoy your presence. And don't waste your time thinking about this. If she want's to hang out, she'll make it happen, you just have to accept her invitations.

Ok, well, I didn't mean outright tell me, but there were instances where she could've just told me she was busy, instead of saying things like "I might be at my busy, but I'll let you know" and then make me think she'll actually let me know and then never do anyway. She already said the busy part, if she didn't really want it, she could've just left it at that.

Have you ever seen the movie He's Just Not That Into You? The same rules apply. If she doesn't find a time, call you back, or if she avoids you whatsoever, she's just not that into you.
