Usually as long as both aren't physically attracted to each other. Otherwise, one of you is eventually gonna snap... usually. There might be occasions where it just went fine.

On a serious note this could be possible only once in a blue moon.. there are many circumstances where a friend of opposite gender gets attracted to the attitude n behaviour of a friend which gives rise to feeling and make thing complicated
