How long does it take for a man to realize he's lost a good woman? When would he start to miss her?

Like women, lots of people don't look back. Even if he misses you from time to time, he's not likely to equate the two (ie regretting not making her more of a priority, it won't be "his fault" probably in his mind). Especially if he let you go in the first place when you broke up with him.

Women from what I understand grieve sooner than men. Men take longer to realize they've lost her. Men usually distracts themselves by starting other relationships or sleeping around.

Younger men yes. Once they get up to our age, we tend to be a little less like that (more mature). Although there are some that still will be. But you're very right on the distraction part of it (relationship or something else). But that goes right along with what I said, he won't be regretting anything likely because it won't have been "his fault". Not to say that no guy would... some might realize. But whether he'll take responsibility for it or not? Most people don't. Male or female.
