What should I do if my boyfriend is acting too clingy?

Me and my boyfriend have been dating for almost 8 months now and he's always been very sweet and affectionate but, for the last few months, it seems like he's acting a bit extra clingy. He texts me during the day and sends ''walls of texts'' without me even replying back. I work full time and i have a very busy career and he has a lot more free time than i do.

The problem is the content of his texts is always the same. ''I love you so so much'' and ''You mean the world to me'' pop up on my notifications several times a day. And while i found it sweet in the beggining, now i'm starting to get a bit annoyed and turned off by his constant spam of texts showering me with attention all the time when i'm trying to pursue my dreams. I tried to act more distant and reply less to his messages but he keeps doing the same everyday.

I still love him but i feel like my attraction to him is going down considerably because of this issue. What should i do?

You need to talk to him. If you love him the least thing you can do is try to salvage the relationship. I suggest sitting down with him and having an honest conversation.

Tell him the truth in a way you’d like to hear it yourself, so be sensitive, empathetic and honest. Tell him firstly that you love him and that you like that he always makes the effort to text you everyday no matter what. But then say, however I just am concerned that there’s just too much texting going on and that you’re starting to feel overwhelmed because you don’t have the time to always reply when you want to due to a busy workload. Then suggest that I think it might be easier to limit the texts to a few because as much i love hearing from you but I feel so overwhelmed with work and time it’s stressing me out and I think I need some space to relax a bit. Maybe we could try to text twice every week and then do one phone call, what do you think?

if you love the guy, you will always make some sort of compromise that you can agree to, to fix the problem.
Sometimes the guy doesn’t know and we need to spell it out for him! There’s no such thing as problem that can’t be fixed.

He's not being clingy he's being anxious. Which probably means he had abandonment issues growing up or with a partner who probably abused them. The worst thing you could do is distance yourself, being cold and act like you don't care. What you should do is over all communicate with him. You need to ask him what is wrong. But whatever you do do not say that he's being clingy. Because of you respond that way that he's going to get defensive and then your relationship is not going to get anywhere it's just going to get worse until one of you decide to break up with each other. This is why if you are not friends prior while you do not date strangers you know nothing about. What every sweet person is always a secure portion of that. Like with Mark Gungor say you can't have cow without poop. So you can't be expecting perfection without realizing that he's a human being. Do you have to look at it like this. Would you prefer to be single or do you want to be in relationship? Because this is what happens when you're in a relationship.

ask him not to text you during work since it is distracting, tell him to his face (kindly) that it isn't affectionate to text the same thing over and over.
