Are clingy people annoying?

This person I know is all stressed because the object of their affection hasn’t replied to a text message and so they’re tempted to send another one
Or even call

So it’s led me to ask are clingy people annoying. For me the answer is the third option. I once was a clingy person because I had bad parents but I’ve recovered from being one and yeah it all good for me now. Just hope my friend who’s clingy can stop or the fear of abandonment will become the self fulfilling prophecy

I am dating a girl who is clingy. Like messages me all day via text or whatsapp.

She is sexy and attractive so believe it or not I was NOT annoyed by her messaging so much. And she was intense about it too. Asking a lot of deep questions and stuff.

It didn't annoy me.

The reason why I was turned off by it was because I the constant messaging made me suspicious of her. Is she a psycho chic? Is she a stalker? What are her attentions to be so obsessed with me? Is she trying to manipulate me?

Over time I have come to realize that this is just who she is. I have started to realize that she may be crazy in love but she is not psychotic. And I have come to realize that she isn't toying with me as her obsession, it is just a genuine head over heels crazy affection for me.

So I have finally gotten to the point where I actually kind of like her clingy nature. It turns me on. And when she doesn't message me... I miss her.

Yes. They have to understand that it is disrespectful to monopolize someone's time and attention to the extent that they want to do.

Someone not texting them back instantly does not have to mean the other person doesn't care. Maybe the other person just isn't into texting conversations.

Attention is not the only thing that can be rationed without losing its value.

I don't mind spicy food, but I draw the line at emptying the entire chili sauce bottle onto my meal.

This is kind of what you are forcing someone to do when you are clingy. If that very strange metaphor makes sense.

I mean, when you really like someone, you're hoping that they like you as much as you like them. And demonstrate it in the same way you do, whether thats a texting a lot, or calling, or wanting to see them in person more often. I do empathize at the moment because I currently don't have a job because of Covid, and currently have more free time on my hand than I used to, so I could talk to my boyfriend all day and not complain. However, he still works, and when I was working I had very little free time to myself, and he is currently the same. When I was working, I was casually dating some people, and one of them was clingy. And I was ok with seeing them once or twice a week, and texting minimally between then, but I couldn't handle them wanting to text all the time! They would text me constantly and when I wouldn't answer, they would call, and I felt smothered. It was annoying and I stopped seeing them.

A certain amount is alright, but not if it's becoming an issue where the other is minimizing personal time, day, or schedule and becomes unkind of one's boundaries where you're trying to wedge through it just because they did not want to get on social media or take a little time away from their phone. It becomes annoying when one lacks confidence and is leaning towards really clingy.

It honestly depends. As long as I like him then I don’t mind it. But being overly clingy can be a turn off. It gives off a desperate vibe.
