forgiving is not for the other person. It is for yourself. Forgive them and then move on. Don't move on and still be hurt over it. That's not hurting them, it's only you reliving the pain over and over.
@PoliteSpeaker they made a choice and now the favor is being returned. There is no curse in any language fot that kind of treachery. If she feels so bad about it, then what possessed her to do it in the first place?
I saw a story on Reddit not long ago. A guy had been married to his then wife for 23 years. He found out his wife had been banging one of her coworkers, who was as old as their oldest son, in their own bed for over a year prior. He ended up exposing her to all of her family, work colleagues and her friends.
She became a pariah to almost everyone she knew. She begged for his forgiveness, even to the point that she was so mentally anguished she made a serious attempt on her own life. And through it all, he did not shed one tear for her. Never felt bad for her or even pitied her. She got everything that came to her and he didn't lose a wink of sleep over her mental state.
So when you say forgiveness is for yourself, I know you're lying. They just want you to passively accept their treacherous nature and make vain attempts to mend the shattered relationship of her creation.
No, forgiveness is, as far as I'm concerned, a cowards tool.
