I’m in a rebound relationship right now. Been 5 months. I love my rebound, I care about him so deeply. The sex is awesome. The thing is, in the initial statues, your heart is still full with lovey feelings from your past relationship, so you dump that all on your rebound (love bombing) and have sex like a rabbit to distract yourself. Often, when the sex gets old or the heart heals, the bandaid gets ripped off.
I don’t think I’d go back to my ex given the chance, but I feel like I jumped into a new relationship too early and didn’t allow myself time to heal alone.
I think deep down, when choosing a rebound, many unconsciously choose someone we know we can’t be with long term (for whatever reason X) and use those reasons as excuse for the breakup with the rebound.
Now I’m willing to give my rebound another chance and see if we are indeed compatible or not. I made sure to choose him better than my ex in many ways as well.
