I understand all this about equality but is an extreme cheapskate disgusting?
My ex boyfriend was like this.
- For the first 2 dates, he used his free ticket and Popeyes discount (70% off)
- Afterwards either I had to pay 60% of the times (he came up with wild stories of losing his money) or it was always 50/50. I liked the idea of taking turns and surprising each other at a real nice place, no free event crap nor coupons crap.
- I took him to a couple nice places several times because it came from the heart but he never did the same.
- He knew I liked orchids and black roses. Instead of surprising me with it at least, he suggested I go to google and order them.
- For my b-day, he only wished me happy b-day and we stayed at home, doing nothing.
- He didn't even buy anything for his own mother's b-day either... yet he had tons of money to buy expensive things for himself.
- For Christmas, he gave me $50 (I thought to myself ''wow what a miracle'') only to take it away from me, convince that he can slip it. He ended up using all of it on a several cheap gifts. Basically be bought it with my gift money, gave nothing.
- Sometimes he would ask me for money. He still owes me $200.
I dumped him after a year of putting up with that. I figure if he is even cheap with his own mother, he isn't suitable as the future father of my kids. He's gonna be cheap with them too. I'm not asking for jewels but not even a simple surprise with your favorite rose/flower or a small detail? Is that behavior disgusting? I'm not like that.
