When you first introduce your new boyfriend to your best friend, are you afraid they will be attracted to each other and he will leave you for her?

This happens more than we realize. It's risky anymore introducing your new boyfriend to your friends because if they are jealous of the two of you, they might do things to try to break the two of you up.
So, don't give your friends too much information about him. They collect this information and could want him for themselves.
Like don't say "OMG! He's sooo good in bed. The sex was the best I've ever had". Don't say all the things he does for you or how sweet he is, etc.
Because if you do, pretty soon she will go after him.
So, shhhh!

I've never been afraid of that at all... for a few different reasons. My female friends and I have very different tastes when it comes to guys even if we do share other things in common, so... that's not a thing. Next, I've never gone into a relationship worried that my guy would look at my bff if he's interested in me (for basically the same reasons).

I know it IS common for friends to part ways because of such things, so I understand this is a good question. It just hasn't been my personal experience.

Most of my friends already have boyfriends and one isn't interested in romantic relationships. So, if I ever had a boyfriend, I wouldn't need to worry.

No. I think I'd be more concerned about him chasing after her, like the night I met my first girlfriend. We became a hot & heavy item REAL fast and before the night was over, my guitarist was hitting on her!!

What kind of friends and boyfriend does one have to be so insecure that they might feel that the boyfriend will hook up with the friend instead?

There were no insecurities on my part, that is until I introduced them, and right away, at that very first introduction, you could tell the way they looked at each other that they were definitely attracted to each other!!
He started calling her kiddo, then within a month, he started calling her My Dear.

She denied everything but I might have been born at night, but it wasn't last night.

Anyway, he died suddenly, and her hair fell out, just like mine did when he died. When someone is grieving over loosing some they love, a lot of their hair will fall out.
Well, he was my boyfriend and living with me when he died. At least I knew she didn't end up with him in the end, because that pain would have been worse than the pain of him dying.
