Should I be angry?

My long term boyfriend is divorced and has to travel to see his kids every weekend. So I only get to see him weekdays and weeknights about 2 or 3x a week.
I asked him to pick a weekend to spend with me instead of the kids so he and I can do activities together.
I made zip lining plans for sat and diner afterwards.
I also bought tickets to a play in our area for Friday night.
He said let's see how Friday goes. I'm seeing you sat right? I'm meeting my friends Friday around 3 at a nice restaurant and you know I'll be drinking.
So let's see how it goes if the play starts at 8. The man is 43 years old he's not a kid.
Am I overreacting but I'm seriously pissed. If he wants to hang out with his buddies on a Friday then change your schedule with visiting ur kids to appease that! His kids are 15 by the way.

It’ll be the only time he has to himself, he’s seeing his friends one day at the weekend and you the other, and it seems like you made plans before asking him.


I also don’t understand why you seem so bothered about him visiting his kids? He sounds like a good dad who cares about his kids, and kids do come first. You mentioned that they are 15 but that doesn’t matter, it’s still nice that he goes to see them in my opinion, and you knew he had kids in the first place so that’s obviously going to be his priority? I understand it might be frustrating but you get to see him through the week, and he’s seeing you at the weekend aswell as his friends.

True I did get the play tickets last minute. But In the last 2 years I never see him on weekends and he purposely took this weekend off from the kids to spend time with me.
I didn't think drinking with your buddies was a priority at 43 years old.
