Girls, Why more and more people are now unhappily married?

I started talking to a guy at the gym. He would always nod and say hi every-time he saw me for quite a while.

We got talking and it so how happened that he studied at the same university as me. He had saw me wearing the university jumper but he had studied 10 years ago before me. We talked about night clubs and how it had changed since he been there and what was still there etc.
He had completely transformed his body from the weights training also.

He mentioned he was married. That he met her back in university. how now has a kid with her and a mortgage. I said wow man , good you stick together. And he seems very negative. He didn’t have one good word to say about his wife. And he seemed generally unhappy. Also there is another women in the gym , who my friend told me he regularly talks to.
so it seemed common that people are unhappy with there marriage.
maybe now that he is muscular and bigger. He is more attractive and attracts more women more so than 10 years ago when he met his soon to be wife st university.
I have dated lots of women , and also had sexual relationships. But I am kinda scared to either marry one and be unhappy or have a child. So I am waiting for the right woman.

This is so true. I have a friend married with 3 kids and is literally just staying in the marriage to be there for his kids. He hates his wife. I guess the reason is that people fall in love with a version of a person at a particular point and think that that person is gonna be the same as time goes by... as time goes by people do change, effort is no longer put in the relationship and people become comfortable... life changes (kids, finances , work etc get added to the mix) , the dynamic changes and people fall out of love. But they made a commitment so they either stick through it and stay in the unhappy marriage or get divorced.

I think a lot of guys pretend to have bad marriages to justify cheating to the people they try to cheat with and the other thing is there was less rivalry in the past because woman were submissive and most families only needed a single source of income to survive, now things cost more money and a lot of woman are using their bodies and not their personalities to attract men.

I feel like this is nothing new. It’s just that divorces are more socially acceptable than they used to be in the older days. But affairs and unhappy marriages have always existed.

Yeah very true , I was just shocked because he met her at university. They are married, kid and mortgage. I congratulated him for staying with her, she shrugged his shoulders and was like hmmm. So I guess he is not happy. I feel like a lot of people marry and then are unhappy. I guess it better to wait it out ….
