Realistically, if both of you still love each other and it was the right person wrong timing, how do you get them to understand that?
My ex is depressed and hates himself, as a result, he self-sabotaged the relationship to its end. He told me “we can’t be together because I will always hurt you”. But I know that I am the only person he has and that I am his person and he is deeply hurting right now and misses me. He can’t talk to anyone like he did with me, it was the first time in his entire life that he found someone he can be himself with.
Now, with that information, how can I convince him to get the help that he needs so that we can work and be in a better relationship together?

We still love each other and something is definitely there. The last time he saw me he started crying and before I left he apologized to me while sobbing in my arms. He watched me through the window as I left. Might I add that he is refusing to tell anyone that we broke up.
How do I make him understand that he can get the help that he needs for us to work? Or just what can I do do make this work from a guys perspective?
