Why guys allowed their lazy wife's to over spend?

My cousin he is married to a Karen. My cousin no so long ago he finished law school and okay his a lawyer. We were close growing up since he is my same age but things changed when married Karen. Now he bought her a BMW she's always wearing new clothes , New shoes and not only that but Karen always takes my cousin's credit card. I had a serious talk with my cousin that he shouldn't allowed all this crazy spending. How he needs to have control of his finances still has student loans to pay and start saving and Karen has no right over his finances that I am worried and concern about him but no he always puts Karen first now he doesn't want to talk to me. I was only giving my cousin an advice. His wife hates me I just wanted to help my cousin I don't want to see him empty Pocket divorce later in the future. My cousin is 28 and I don't want him to get in debt so fats he took at all these credit cards just because Karen told him to do so.

Once a guy is married, depending on state law, there is no easy decision? Order her to stop spending? She’ll accuse him of “financial abuse” and appeal to feminism to justify her actions. She might be able to file for divorce, drain his resources by legal maneuvering, get half their assets plus various perks the courts give to women but not to men like having him pay for her medical insurance, and alimony for a long time or possibly for life. Then she can keep spending more of his money. It’s a difficult situation.

My advice would be to bite the bullet and give her an ultimatum: Stop the spending or it’s over. Just make sure he puts as much of their resources in cash as possible because any brokerage accounts or retirement savings will be frozen during potentially lengthy divorce proceedings.

I was disappointed by a girl. It started very fairly u pay for that and I'll pay for this. Equitable.

Then it went to can you get this and I'll pay u back. So I started to run a spreadsheet.

When I presented what she owed me she wasn't very happy but it got her under control.

He might actually want his wife to wear nice clothes and drive a nice car. I know you're concerned, but it's his marriage. He's a grown man and probably doesn't want unsolicited advice (advice he didn't ask for).

I don’t know but it doesn’t happen in my house. Not that my wife is lazy. I manage the finances. If I let her manage them she’d spend it all in a week. She knows and that’s why she has no issue with letting me manage the money.
