Why Is Rain Almost Always Connected With Romance?

It's raining cats and dogs in my city right now, so I thought I'd ask a simple common question related to rain to get your thoughts on the topic.

Why is rain always connected to romance? Where did the idea even come from? Like where did it all begin? Or maybe I'm just thinking too much into it lol, but you can't deny all the evidence that points towards it either. Why is that?

Whenever it rains, people seem to get in a romantic mood and there's almost always a couple seen making out or dancing, or both, in the rain. The media shows it too.

Anyways, just thought it was a fun question to ask lol.

For me when it rains it just kinda creates a cozy ambience especially when you’re just chilling at home, listening to the sound of the rain drops, all cuddled up with your S. O. for warmth.
