What i mean is copying phrases they use often or certain mannerisms they do you find yourself doing?

like one time i noticed this one girl copying the exact way her boyfriend would say the word ‘right?’ Or even laughed in a similar way to him.

Yeah me too, I love “people watching” I can spend hours just watching people come and go, seeing how the interact w/ eachother. It’s basically amateur sociology. But yeah, I will be a lot more attentive to my OWN behavior. I’m usually very self aware, I’m surprised I couldn’t tell you whether or not I’ve mirrored the mannerisms or affectations of others, especially boyfriends, or guys I'm dating.

I think everyone does, it's perfectly natural. You're in a new situation and you adapt your mannerisms to fit/match your partner.

Yeah, I think I tend to copy anyone I spend a certain amount of time with. Moreso if I genuinely like them, since I copy them consciously so they don't dislike me.

Easier to avoid mirroring someone when it’s online. IRL it’s hard to avoid it, as I mirror peoples personalitys as a safety tactic, and it’s also a trait of BPD.
