Multiple people have said my girlfriend is bad news. What should I believe?

Multiple people have told me that my girlfriend has bullied or upset them. But when I ask her about it, she starts crying or gets angry and insists that they are targeting her for no reason or out of jealousy and wanting to break us up. She then asks me to protect her from them, which I do.

I've had her ex-friends tell me she made them cry after saying "mean" things to them and "bullied" them, and my best mate (a dude) said he thinks she's a horrible person and he thinks she's manipulative. My other best friend told me he thinks she's no good. But when I asked my girlfriend, she told me that if I don't protect her from them and take her side, she's going to leave me. She then convinces me that she has done nothing wrong.

What should I do if I'm always caught in the middle? Could they just be trying to stir stuff up between me and my girlfriend or is she lying? I don't want to be with a girl who isn't nice to other people but on the other hand I can't imagine her "bullying" people. I feel like I constantly have to choose between her and people.

Alright, I don't wanna be devil's advocate here, but are you sure your girlfriend is telling the truth? Because it could go either way, but if multiple people are all saying the same thing, there might be some truth to it. Sometimes we can't see a person's true character when we are with them, either because of love or because they are maybe manipulative or showing them a side she doesn't show to you in order to avoid losing you.

I get the feeling that she's lying to you, I don't know. If she is NEVER in the wrong, there's a reason why. It usually means she's lying to you. Most normal people are in the wrong at least some of the time. It's impossible to never be in the wrong, and everyone else is the bad guy

Reputations don't happen for no reason. The fact that she started crying whenever you brought it up points to her being a manipulative person. Id dump her as soon as possible.
