Guys, would my friend be into me?

I've had a huge crush on my best friend of ten years but never persued anything because I thought I wasn't his type.

We've been there for each other through hard times in our own lives. I've told him a lot of personal things and assumed he knows me too well to see me in any light that would give him... Sparks? Like I've ruined my sense of excitment and mystery...

I've also been his only female friend the whole time. We've remained friends while we've been in relationships and incorperate our partners into our friendship although he does message me considerably more when single... His only other interactions with women other than me or his few girlfriends is hook ups.

I respect him a lot but I think he is too smart for me to just comes onto him. He also has high self worth and is very invested in his personal goals that he would never try to court me either.

I don't know if he'd even have sex with me let alone a relationship. Guys, what is your take on this? Without me having to awkwardly ask him, do you think he could be into me? What determining signs should I be looking out for?
