Am I being petty?

Am I being petty? My husband and I have two dogs, and he always treats one (Axel) better than the other. Axel is his favorite and he gives all of his attention to him and almost never says anything bad about him and basically spoils him even though Axel is usually the trouble maker. However Kimchi our other dog who we have had a bit longer, he criticizes him all the time, even though he is the trained one. He barely gives him affection, only makes fun of him, and never really cares about him (mainly because he’s a dog that doesn’t beg for pets all the time and my husband says he prefers dogs that do.) I brought it up to my husband saying we should love on the dogs equally but- he just doesn’t care and then he gets mad at me when I give attention to Kimchi because he says now I’m having favorites- even though I’m just trying to make sure Kimchi gets attention too.

Am I being petty for getting frustrated at my husband for this?
