Husband won’t wear wedding ring to hurt me, is this normal?

My husband is refusing to wear his ring because we don’t have sex often enough. Maybe once a month and he is constantly putting me down about it. I have a very demanding job and we two active kids I’m hauling everywhere. I told him I will try and focus on our intimacy this summer when I’m done working. So now he says he’ll wear his ring this summer. I asked him to put his ring on tonight because I was going to a work dinner and he was meeting my boss. I’m absolutely crushed. I should add he had told me he hates me recently and other our downs. Not really behavior that puts you in the mood.
I feel like I’m being punished like a teenager. I thought love was unconditional?

I don't think you realize how serious your predicament is. When you husband takes his wedding ring off (however juvenile it is) he's essentially saying, I am to the point where I'm going to start looking elsewhere for sex, and you say to him "I will try to focus on our intimacy this summer when I am done working."

I almost guarantee you, if you wait another few weeks and put this off till work is done, he's probably going to be looking for someone else.

Love is unconditional to a certain point. If he feels disconnected enough to ditch the ring, then this has been going on for quite sometime and isn't something recent. Your sex life as a married couple is just as important as your job, taking the kids everywhere, etc.

Married couples can't just survive for the kids and their jobs, if intimacy is lost, then your just friends when it comes down to it.

I am not saying you are to blame entirely, he needs to work on things too, it can't just be wham bam thank you ma'am go your separate ways. He's gonna have to put some effort into it and make you feel special again.

I don't wear my wedding ring for many reasons... it hurts during weight lifting first of all.

It gets in the way of work.

And it makes women hit on me relentlessly and I just need a break from getting hit on by every woman I come into contact with. So I take that wedding ring off and women once again start treating me like a creepy weirdo that is secretly looking to trap them in my basement and breed them for slaves to work on the farm.

I put that stupid ring on though and gawd damn... does every woman see a married man as the ultimate challenge for their seduction methods?

Yeah if you're guy lifts weights the way I do... that ring is a pain. Mine actually cut my finger open on one side from the weight. The inside part of my finger got sliced basically. I wish I could show you a picture of me in the comments... you can clearly see that I still wear my wedding ring, but I wear it around my neck instead.

I posted my pic in my opinion on this question if you want to see an example. You can see my wedding ring is now a necklace. It really does hurt the hands. You could probably easily talk your man into wearing the ring like I do... around the neck instead of on the finger.

The ring is a symptom, not the root cause. I don't know if there is a fundamental difference in your sex drives or if that is due to his behavior, but that is the thing that needs thinking about.

Maybe there is basic difference and nothing can be done. Or maybe you are stuck in a feedback loop where he is unhappy and mean because he doesn't get sex, and his being mean and unhappy makes you not want sex.

He's being childish with his refusal to wear a ring, but it's the only power he can exercise in this situation.
