My ex boyfriend wants to go to a gynecologist appointment with me. Any opinion?

My ex boyfriend broke up with me 2 months ago, it was due to a fight and I reacted extremely bad and caused a scene. I was upset because he was showing a lot of distrust against me. He was acting very controlling and the night we broke up, it was because I was at a bar with a female friend and he didn’t believe me and showed up there with a terrible attitude.

I know I shouldn’t have acted like that but I was really drunk. I have apologized a lot of times, I have asked him for a second chance and he says he can be my friend but only that. But he has also tried to sleep with me since the breakup so I’m not sure if he really wants to be my friend. The first time that we saw each other after the breakup he insisted for about 1 hour until I gave in.

Even though we broke up, sometimes he still acts possessive of me, he asked me if I have been with someone because I had bruises on my legs, 3 weeks ago I was out with friends and he asked me to send him a photo of where I was. I still feel very guilty for the breakup so I know that I’m vulnerable. I have tried to fix things but he doesn’t want it. He says that he can only be my friend (I don’t even know why I want to fix things).

This week I have an appointment with my gynecologist because he is going to put me the Mirena (the IUD that prevents pregnancy) he knows about this because I told him about that before we broke up and now he has offered twice to go with me.

I don’t know what to think because he is being nice, he wants to be my friend but at the same time I know he has been controlling on the past.

Could be possible that he is just trying to be nice and be supportive?

He is controlling / tending toward abusive. Cut him off and don't look back. NEVER feel guilty for a breakup. Anyone can leave any relationship if they want, for ANY reason they want. You don't owe him he doesn't owe you.

First - you have every right to go to a bar with your girlfriend.

Second - you are not dating (you said you broke up) so its none of his damn business how you got bruises on your legs.

No, he doesn't get to go to the doctor with you unless YOU actually want him to. But I don't recommend it. Doctor's visits are personal. And again HE IS NOT YOUR BOYFRIEND.

He is not being "helpful", he is being controlling. Its bad.

I see too many cases of (mostly) women getting into abusive / controlling relationships and not recognizing it because they are too close to the problem or too inexperienced.

He had no business going to this appointment and it seems like he’s trying to intrude on something that is none of his business. Also he isn’t trying to be your friend, he is trying to use you for sex because he doesn’t see you as a girlfriend but sees you as a person he can have sex with , with no title. Get rid of him

Dude, don't have relationships or try to make girlfriends of those who go to bars and who get drunk ESPECIALLY when they go out drinking and getting drunk alone without their mate at a meat market where male attention, flirting and interaction is guaranteed. They aren't referred to as "meat markets" for nothing.

If you are with a girl who still wants to go out without you to bars and to get drunk... run for the hills. You can have a fling/hook up with girls who do that... but you NEVER make such a girl your girlfriend.

It's not controlling to have boundaries. I would not tolerate my wife going out to the bar without me, and many other men feel the same way because going out to bars and clubs is single woman behavior and exposes them to being approached by guys while the alcohol impairs their judgment. If you want to do that then stay single.
