Is it lazy if a man asks you to get yourself from the airport?

I’m taking a flight home today and my boyfriend asked if I could get a taxi home instead of him meeting me. Tbh if he meets me, we get a taxi anyway because we don’t have a car right now. So logically it makes no sense for him to get a taxi to the airport, meet me for 2 minutes then we get a taxi home together. It makes no sense. BUT I just like it when he meets me. It makes me feel loved and that he has gone out of his way for me. As soon as he asked me to just get home on my own, I instantly felt disappointed like he doesn’t care about me - which I know is not true! I don’t know what it is about airports or arriving home, it’s always better when someone meets you, right?

What do you guys think about this topic? I wish I could be a modern mature woman and say ‘ok babe it makes no sense you coming all this way just to meet me’ but I love him being there when I arrive 😂. Hopeless romantic I guess!

Anyway I explained to him that it would mean a lot if he did meet me because it’s just a nice thing a guy can do for me. I feel loved when he meets me like that. He said yes, he will come to the airport. But I kinda hate that this wasn’t obvious to him and I had to ask him to meet me, kinda takes the romance out of it!

Uhhh anyway let me know your experiences with airport pickups!

Would his answer differ if he had a car? If he still wouldn't pick you up, I'd definitely say yes. But only because taxis are indeed expensive.

I came back from business travel and one of my female coworkers asked for a ride home from the airport. I didn't want to oblige because I've had prior issues with female coworkers crushing on me, so I only agreed to take her most of the way home and have her husband pick her up. He was so pissed I made him drive 15mi to pick up his wife at midnight. He wouldn't even load her luggage into his car. So I helped her while he sat in the driver's seat finishing a video game.

And we wonder how cheating happens...

If your boyfriend had a vehicle I’m sure he would pick you up on a heartbeat however you stated that both of you don’t have a car & if you listen to your own words you used logic when you stated So logically it makes no sense for him to get a taxi to the airport, meet me for 2 minutes then we get a taxi home together.

in my opinion since he doesn't have a car it makes more sense that you take 1 taxi rather than he takes 2. Taxis aren't that cheap. Personally I'd rather he spend the money on like a nice dinner than a taxi.

I'm with him. Doesn't make sense to pay for two taxis. I'm sure you and he will be very happy when you step out of the taxi and he greets you with a welcome home hug.

No car so pay for an extra taxi? Does not seem reasonable. Also depends upon the airport. If I'm flying into John Wayne, one of my friends will get me. If I'm flying into the armpit that is LAX, I'll get my own.

Anyway, I think your expectation is unreasonable. I would drive to pick someone up, but would not take a cab. It's about $70 one way, and it's only a 20 minute ride.
