My boyfriend told me to grow up because I made a joke about a fart?

My boyfriend lives with a housemate. He has an old sofa, and an indentation where his housemate always sits. My boyfriend has told me in the past that his housemate farts really loud there. So today my boyfriend was sat with his head in the exact position where his housemate farts, and I joked ‘that’s where your housemate farts’. He got really annoyed and said sharply ‘grow up’. Did I do wrong?
