Would You Rather Have High Divorce Rates Or High Cheating Rates?

I'm not saying that granting them divorce will always solve the societal problem of one person cheating on their SO or spouse, but it can certainly lower them if people have an out.

A lot of women I've witnessed are dissatisfied with their husbands — for whatever reason, usually it's alcoholism in my state, and potential abuse that comes with it. Divorce is seen as a privilege, India considers widows far more honourable than divorcee and India, lastly, supports the idea of "do it for your family" to the point some married couples would rather entangle a third person and cheat rather than considering seperation.

You gotta pick either of these or skip this question. I know that both are terrible options, but saying "neither" is pointless and irrelevant.

My experience has shown that a lot of couples cheat, even long term marriages. My wife cheated on me, but left and moved in with her lover soon after. The divorce was a nightmare, and left me an emotional mess for a long time. I was in a police academy at the time and she fucked this guy on the nights I was in school. Looking back, I would have rather her continue fucking, as long as I did not know, and kept the marriage intact.

Then again, we could have talked about it and maybe could have arranged to have an open marriage, but now too late to talk about it.

You mentioned India, and I read an account of a woman living in India, married with a 13 year old daughter, that met a younger man while traveling to work, via bus, and they fucked several times without her husband knowing. She said her husband was always busy with work and was not as interested in sex as she was. The young guy moved away and she started looking for another younger man, again. She did not want to leave her husband.

Cheating is less harmful, as you can simply deny the results access to resources. This is the reasons for the first born vs first legitimate (born to your wife) child dispute between Muslim and christian. However in both faith's a marriage is really about security.

Divorce thanks. I'd rather people be able to move on with their lives rather than being permanently stuck in positions that are likely to become increasingly unhealthy and even abusive.

Definitely high divorce rate. Cheating is unforgivable and staying in a loveless marriage is also horrible. So I choose divorce rate.

They both suck. I just wish people would work out the kinks in a relationship or figure out a divorce is necessary BEFORE they have kids. Cause once you have kids you're screwed and they're screwed
