Are other people qualified to tell you whether you should or shouldn't be in a relationship with someone?

We all know love, lust, and infatuation can cloud our judgement, and blind us to a lot of red flags in a relationship. Sometimes a frriend/family member will step in and try to tell us that this person is not right for us and why. Do you think anyone is qualified to do that, or everyone should butt out even if there are red flags?

We're unfortunately in a very questionable, unproductive era in history presently. An era in which a person's qualifications to perform a particular job, or even be viewed as legitimate are contingent upon their 'social' grade, which is, in theory determined by society at large. In other words, it doesn't matter if you're the best there is in your chosen field, if your peers happen to view you unfavorably. Can you believe such a crock of horse manure?

In this case, this misguided system of evaluation is apparently being used to gauge someone's moral worthiness as a suitable partner in a prospective relationship. And people wonder why the nation is rapidly going down the proverbial toilet.

Difficult to say. But other's opinion is also important. Consider:

- who is giving an advice

- what kind of advice they give

And then make your own conclusions. Try to see yourself from the side.

The answer is "maybe". If you have a history of picking shit men and making shit decisions, it makes sense that family member who care about you give input.

My best friend is definitely someone where if she doesn't approve, I wouldn't date them. I've known her for a quarter of a century, and I know she has no ulterior motives and is absolutely looking out for my best interest. We both do the same for her brother who tries to fight us with some choices, but we're literally always right and he knows it.
