Guy stloe 10k from his girlfriend and gambled it. She demands the money back and he pays her back in full. Later she learns he won 100million with that 10k. Now she's demanding 40 million. Does he owe her a share of the winnings? Keep in mind if he had stole this from a business he'd be facing charges.

If you guys didn't watch the video it does say he agreed to giver 5 million. She just not happy with that and wants 40 million.

She did nothing to earn the 40 million. In fact, she is not damaged at all, since he returned the 10K to her. If she sued him, I'm guessing the court would rule that way, that she is entitled to nothing.

I'm not sure, but I think it could be argued that it was his work that generated the additional money and that she was not involved in that. I think it also might hinge on exactly when he paid her back and how much he paid her back. It would be very complicated. I don't think that she would necessarily be entitled to the amount she has demanding but would probably be entitled to something.

I'm not a lawyer and I'm not sure about this at all. However, in a practical sense I would imagine that if I actually had the 40 million I could figure out a way to buy my way out of this if it is illegal.

From what I've heard so far it doesn't sound like she has much of a case. That's why I asked this question. I mean morally I think he should spread the wealth sp to speak. Because it wasn't his money to begin with. But apparently being in a relationship makes the ownership of that principal money hazy.

Mentioned this yesterday to a customer of mine who is a lawyer and his opinion was that because it was theft the money always belonged to the woman and any profit it made should also be hers.
