I am having that experience with a girlfriend who wants me to just be Lesbian and be exclusively with her still to this day, so it just made me curious if this kind of thing happens to anyone else which I doubt by I will ask anyway.

Some people are open-minded, open to different types of options. That doesn't mean they'll only choose to have all or nothing. Your girlfriend isn't telling you what preference you should have... she's telling you she's committed to you and wants to believe you're committed to her. Not all straight or bi people have to have something on the side. People seem to be more accepting of bi people having something on the side than straight people having something on the side. In reality, there is no difference. There is no right or wrong. Just make sure you are clear with any potential partner from the start.

If you go to a restaurant, you'll choose a specific menu item, not insist on having some of everything. Choosing one doesn't minimize the value of the other. Your girlfriend finds that monogamy works best for her, but apparently you don't choose to settle down with one. Just be open and honest with her, letting her know you'll always be open to tasting whatever new flavor you might encounter. You want different things in life. Set her free with the truth, so she can find what she's seeking, and you can find what you're seeking. We all want to be accepted and appreciated as we are, not for the potential we can become.

I am the guy who fell in love with a bi-female and she promised to be faithful and monogamous. When she wanted a man, I could give her what she wanted and she was happy. But when she wanted a female, and I obviously could not "scratch that itch," she cheated on me.

I never give demands or ultimatums in a relationship because they never work. If you think an ultimatum worked, it is very likely that your partner is just being more discrete in covering up their infidelity. No, I accepted the fact that she would never be 100% faithful to any man - or to any woman - and I could not change that.

So we divorced. The marriage had only lasted two years, but she actually tried to make a claim for alimony! I decided to never again date a girl with any history of bisexuality. Problem solved for me.

I had a thing with a girl who was bi, but in all honesty Laurie, I can kind of see where the girl is coming from. I think it has to do with the fact that competition will always be around from both genders and that a sexual and intimate relationship would be hard because it can be seen as a way to flip flop without commitment because what one gives you that the other can't can be filled with someone who lacks the other, it is always a thought of "how much longer before they want out?" There isn't a lot of security because it comes off as a need for variety for the bi person to be happy.

And honestly that sucked, because I did like the bi girl a lot. I had a level of insecurity and felt low because there would be times I heard her compliment women that were beautiful and talk about them to me, and she made it a point to say "nothing against you" which didn't help much either. She rarely gave me compliments like she did to others that stood out and it was tough. So I left it. I personally don't think I could commit to someone who was bi because there they will never be satisfied with one person of a specific gender. There will be that underlying frame of how long before they want variety while in the relationship. The only way I see a bi relationship working is if it was an open one between partners.

I've had relationships with bi girls before, and I never had a problem with them being with other girls - just no other men. One of them was strictly monogamous - she had no interest in being with anyone else, regardless of sex, while we were together. The other two did have fun with other girls. I never had a problem with that, and you can argue that it's hypocritical or whatever, but I never saw it as an issue. It was only other men that I would have had a problem with.

It's one thing to only want to date other lesbians. That's a preference.

But her wanting you to change your sexuality for her and her feeling entitled to control that is biphobic. If she can't deal with the fact that you have attraction to men and women, she should recognize that within herself and either work on accepting you in the relationship she has with you; or recognize she can't respect and accept that and deny dating someone bi out of respect for their sexuality.

I'm bi and only recently found out I'm MUCH more attracted to women than men. But I'm not about to deny that I'm attracted to men or masculine features just to get a girlfriend. If she has a problem with my sexuality, that's the kind of problem that dooms our relationship.

I was the straight guy w) bi girlfriend. Never got jealous or told her she couldn't fuck other girls. I liked it.
. she was way more into girls though. I was her 2nd guy she's been with and she had been with close to 20 girls sexually already.

She let me watch her hookup with girls but we didn't have threesomes. She also was immature, jealous of other girls, liked teasing me and other girls sexually for power, and had weird sexual hangups. She really wasn't into penis enough in the end and we broke up 5 months into it.

As a bisexual woman all I can say is that you can't change your sexuality no matter what you do. You will always find men and women attractive sometimes.

I'm also extremely monogamous though so once I am in love with someone I don't notice anyone else very much other than to be like "Aw that person is beautiful! ... OH! My baby texted me!!! EEEEE!!"

Problem with dating anyone "bi" is that you can never be sure they are satisfied with just one partner. The definition of their sexual issue is that they need to have sex with both genders. So if fidelity is important to you, it wouldn't make sense to have a relationship with a bi person.
