What do you call the person your romantically linked to? We are in our forties and I say partner as I feel boyfriend / girlfriend is a little immature and we are not married. He recently introduced me as his ‘current ‘ partner. Does this mean he’s having second thoughts about me?

Yeah using the word current is weird. If youve been together long enough (or even if not really) you should ask him calmly why he had to say that word
We have been together a few years
Is it the first time he did that?
Yes it is
Are you gonna talk to him about it?
Current was kind of an awkward way to say it (it isn't a big deal enough to overthink it and ruin a perfectly healthy relationship), but I think calling each other "partner" just sounds dumb. Perhaps it's because I'm only in my 20s, but to me it's dumb.
If you guys dont like girlfriend/boyfriend why not just say my girl/my man?
I never called my now husband boyfriend neither he called me girlfriend we also think it's a bit childish. We used to call each other 'partner' and before getting married we started calling each other husband and wife.
