Well... there's the spirit of the question to consider. I have never intended to have children, so if that's what's meant by family, my answer has nothing to do with blindness. But in a friend, partner, and long-term person I choose to call "family"? Why not? I had a roommate in college who was deaf. There were adjustments and learning curves, but we got along great, and I loved her dearly (she's passed away since, hence past-tense). Every person is different, and a lot of us have stuff that people who want to be our friends or partners will have to accept and adjust to, just as we will have to do the same. (I'm autistic, for example). I think finding ANY partner comes down to open-mindedness on both sides. Superficial people are not long-term prospects for anyone, period.

There are many different types of visual impairment- not all blind people wear dark glasses and need service dog to get around. Some people have blindness in one eye, some have extremely blurry vision but can still see. So in many ways, his life really wouldn't be that different from my own. So it wouldn't wouldn't a deal breaker

I don’t mind because he won’t get to see how ugly I get at times. I can look like a tree monster and he won’t know. That’s a win. I have flaws and I don’t have to hide them when I’m with him because he simply won’t know.
