My boyfriend 21 and he works a full time job.

He's mostly a home body and an introvert.

He gets nervous breakdowns every so often and he is still reeling from a family tragedy.

He isn't rich by any means.

We are together and have committed to the relationship. It's new so, there are no families involved or anything. We've broken up and it was mostly him dealing with grief. He was also being an asshole and I was also being smothering.

You always hear how guys leave the women who were with them when things were hard for them because they mother them trying to fix all their problems.

I make sure I am just inviting and loving but respect myself.

I am just so afraid that I am a placeholder until his life stabilizes more and can find his ideal woman. We're an unlikely couple and men like to keep within norms when it comes to marriage and so on.

I've told him this and he says I'm wrong to think that and he's with me but you know words don't mean much.

I guess there are thr guys that once they get rich they get a trophy wife. I don't think you have to worry. Yes, there are no guarantees but you can't just hide from life.

I don't think he will leave when life gets better for him, because from what you explained you're not the reason for his life being the way it is for him. If anything, I think you would be one of the reasons and people that make his life better

Just that cultural influences will tale over on his side and I will be abandoned and that he is a) lying about this being tje reality and he is just using me or b) he wouldn't stand up to cultural pressure if it became a more serious relationship.

I'm very interested. Don't want to get attached and have my heart ripped out. This happened to me before and I nearly died. Then the jerk flaunted his marriage in my face. It was awful.

And u are right words don’t mean much. If your gut is signaling something it means your subconscious saw patterns of behaviour in them which is not acceptable. Question is what was that behaviour or what they did
