I don't cheat out of principles, isn't that better than needing to be in love in order to be faithful?

Too many people say ''If you love him/her then you wouldn't cheat''. If someone is only loyal as long as they're in love, then that's not really out of one's character.

Even if you ran out of love, I still think it's wrong to cheat. What about not cheating out of minimal human decency, out of principles? What about not cheating because it's simply wrong, regardless of the reasons? Someone that doesn't cheat either works it out and realizes life isn't about fantasizing about your partner 24/7, that every day isn't sunny or leaves.

If someone is loyal out of principles isn't that better than being loyal as long as you're in love with them?
