Why are some people in their 30's and 40's still acting immature in their relationships or asking silly questions?

Not so long ago, I read about a man in his 30's doing a break-up prank on his girlfriend. Or a woman close to my age (I'm 37 years old) asking if her boyfriend is cheating if he's on dating sites and lying about being single. Either that or people that are still acting jealousy and throwing the ''But you said you love me'' tantrums at that age; as if they were still in HS or in their early 20's. Lastly I've read was another woman older than me by a year that was living with a lazy boyfriend that plays video games (the man was already in his 40's) and complaining that he doesn't help out, what should she do.

Seriously, what's up with those people? I think at certain age, you're already too old to be acting immature or not recognize obvious signs.

I think for some folks, they just never matured emotionally and don't know how to be in a real adult relationship. Kinda pathetic if you ask me.

I'll bet a lot of it also comes down to insecurity and control issues. You see some dudes get jealous over nothing cause deep down they're scared their girl will leave. Pretty boy games just show emotional immaturity.

Exactly and that's why I'm engaged by now. Prior to that, I gave a man (someone I knew from HS) a chance to reciprocate. We chatted a bit online and he claimed to be glad to hear from me. I said me too and told him I'm available if he wants to meet up with me. No response afterwards so I moved on and found someone else.

I think sometimes people know what to do and aren’t doing it for whatever reason and will ask questions hoping they get some other answer. As for the age thing it can be due to having bad self esteem, lack of actual dating experience, etc.

I know 55 year olds who still act like they're in high school. I wouldn't have been involved in this crap when I was 15. Hell, when I was 9, I would have been thinking something like "What are you doing? Jeez, my Grandma wouldn't act like this now, and she LOVES drama!" I think some people consider consequences and are always "smart" and don't need to be told any of this. I think some people start out as idiots... and then somewhere, hopefully quickly, they say, "THAT was a disaster. I'm not doing THAT again!" or "it gets old" and they actually LEARN. They mature. Then I guess there are those who will crave drama and excitement so far that they will put up with whatever legit hassle it is to go through whatever BECAUSE it's dramatic.

I'd think I'm from the first category. But I'm also considered super boring.

I know personally, I'm WAY behind on dating. I may think I know a lot of things, but then those things don't happen the way I think they would (or should). I get a lot of behavior I think is weird. Makes no sense. I'm VERY mismatched with the girl I'm seeing. So I would probably have some questions that are very basic... Sometimes I just want other people to confirm I'm not completely out of my mind. Sort of "Am I the a******?" I get gaslit all the time. So, I might have questions. Sometimes, I just legit don't know something. For me, that's unusual to ask basic stuff - usually I look it up online, or watch videos if I need an answer... but I would understand if a guy in my situation might not know, and might have questions.

Immaturity and insecurity are signs of internal trauma. Maybe that’s the example that was set for them as children; somehow or another they haven’t learned to be adults because they can’t grow past their fear of the unknown. They live a life of regret and sorrow, unable to forgive themselves, needing constant validation because they dont like what they see inside. So they perpetually remain as children.

It's simple. Some people have very little relationship experience until they get later in life so they are learning stuff at age 30 that others learned at 20. It happens. Then you also have some weirdos who just get off on asking the same question over & over again, never listening to what anybody tells them.
