What does it mean when he says he's complicated?

OK so I met this guy a couple of months ago and we really hit it off and had a great time together. He was so wishy washy though and never talked about how he felt about me or anything and then I got mad and stopped talking to him for two months and he didn't seem to care. Recently we started talking again but I had some questions this time, like I asked him what his deal was and he said that he thinks I'm very beautiful and a great girl but he's very complicated and he's too complicated to treat me the way I should be treated. Then a day later he comes over and watches a movie with me and is being all cute tells me he likes me and then the next two days he's back to being MIA/ a**hole. HELP my mind is about to explode!
