1 yI would probably attempt to politely discuss with them why they are so sensitive about things to the point where those around them feel like they are walking on eggshells. If I don't get anywhere with THAT, I would probably limit my contact with the person just to preserve my own mental wellbeing. It is too annoying to have to deal with that.

If you've tried talking to them about it and how you feel and they still get angry or upset over little things then just talk as less as you have to, and spend as less time as you can in case you have no option but to be in their life because you're related to them.

Wow, sounds like you're dealing with some tricky footwork there! 🥚👣 If you're constantly feeling you need to tiptoe around someone, it might be time to evaluate that relationship. Open communication is key; gently express your concerns when the timing feels right. If they're unable or unwilling to address their behavior, it could be a red flag waving high and mighty. Your peace of mind is a top priority, so keep that in mind as you navigate this rocky path, my friend! 🌟

1 yConfront them about it and tell them how you feel or keep walking on eggshells. But I would advise the former. I know it may be hard to do especially if that person is hard to deal with but it must be done if you want peace.
30 Reply 2.7K opinions shared on Relationships topic. Absolutely nothing. While it's ok to be mindful and empathetic in general (and perhaps a bit moreso if someone is hurting) it's not ok to be expected to tiptoe unrealistically around for some indefinite length of time. It's toxic.

1 yI don’t “have to” do anything. I am what i am. Take me or leave me, exactly as i am.
10 Reply I won’t stay with such person lol
00 Reply495 opinions shared on Relationships topic. Depends if there are any meaningful consequences to NOT doing so...
I mean okay, if it is a co-worker or someone in a real position to completely screw up my life then I'll reluctantly hold my tongue... but otherwise, if someone is being overly sensitive to the point of being disruptive, then I will let them know in no uncertain terms that their sensitivity is NOT my problem and I will NOT accommodate it.00 Reply4.1K opinions shared on Relationships topic. I do as little as possible with a person like that unless it's a patient. I don't like being around people that have explosive tempers because it is most unpleasant when they lose their tempers. I was once married to someone like that and I divorced her specifically because she couldn't control her temper and I couldn't tolerate being around it. I felt a great sense of relief when she was finally gone.
10 ReplyWhat you do? You cut them out of your life. They won't change. I had to do it myself. They WILL reach out - you say "fuck you bitch"

1 yProbably best to cut them off unless they clean up their act.
You only have one life. Not worth it to spend it around someone you have to watch every little thing you say with because they might get offended and/or triggered.

What do you do if it’s your brother’s wife?
- 1 y
Call the bitch out. Get it out on the table. Fix it or cut them off. If you don't she'll feel empowered to keep doing it for the rest of her life. If your brother can't grow a pair, she knows it, she doesn't respect him, and it's likely the reason she feels perfectly comfortable walking all over his family.
End the little bitche's reign of terror. Lower your head and tolerate her behavior. Or introduce her and your brother to consequences. Those are your options.
And FYI, I've seen this in a LOT of women. My grandmother on my father's side was like that. A neighbor whose son got married 3 years ago has a wife like that. In all cases the women are with men they don't respect. And the damaged female personalities run wild until someone puts an end to it. - 1 y
I had this exact situation with my brother's wife. My brother and I have always been very close, but I realized I would lose him if I couldn't get along with his wife. So, I decided to find some point, any point we could connect on as something to build on. I figured out that her "love language" is receiving gifts. So I started sending her little "just because" gifts and in the card I would say something like "I love you for how happy you make my brother." She was so moved with the first gift that she cried. Then every couple of months, I gave a little gift from something I had observed she likes... a pretty mug with some gourmet coffee... that kind of thing. One day when I knew she was working a lot of overtime, I went over and cooked a comfort food meal and as soon as she got home, I told her there was a surprise in the kitchen for the two of them, then I left. I made a point to never miss a holiday and I made a big deal out of her birthday. Then, wonder of wonders... she started to reciprocate. She sends me gifts, calls me, texts me and we may not be the best of friends, but we are sisters-in-law and we have a friendship. And best of all? My brother is a happy man.
