If a girl calls me "darling"?

So me and this girl have kind of a sarcastic/playfully mean relationship. We are not exactly friends but we talk and tease each other a lot. Yesterday we were "arguing" and she called me darling. I know it probably doesn't mean much but this isn't a word she uses to call other people or even in everyday chatting. She calls everybody by their.names, except me, so that word kind of stuck out. I know girls use those names a lot but she doesn't use them. Also I noticed that recently she has started to make a lot of eye contact and smiling and giggling and kinda wearing more makeup, fixing her hair and stuff (we've been coworkers for months and I've never seen her like this) could something be up?

If she is treating you differently then other guys, it is highly likely she likes you. Every girl has her own quirk, some even have many.

For example, when I like a guy I can't say his name. I know it sounds weird, but when I do I just start blushing, so I make up a nickname for him and just him. No one else in my life is being addressed with a nickname.

When my friend likes a guy, she can't hold eye contact for more then 2 seconds.

Most girls do the sarcastic, mean, witty jokes around the guys they like. It's like a mode we get helplessly switched into. xD

My other friend will pull his sleeve. She doesn't dare break the touch barrier, but she needs to come into contact every time he is around, so she will never touch more then his clothes.

My best friend just follows the guy she likes pretending to be busy doing something with me. It drives me crazy. (Remember, it's not stalking if you love someone.) xD

A girl in my MA class makes the guy she likes (guy in the same class) laugh. When he comes around she starts cracking jokes like Jerry Seinfeld.

I can also number more of my own quirks. I get lost in thought when I am looking at his face and talking. I am usually highly focused and logical. My talking abilities and knowledge are my biggest strengths. When he comes around I need to look or even step away from he's touch not to sound like a child with a speech impediment.

When he cracks a joke I laugh a lot more then a a normal person would. I am not laughing just because it's funny, but because I am so happy he is trying to make me laugh.

So to cut the story short. special treatment = she likes you

Even if being treated differently = being treated "worse"? I'm not saying she is a b*tch, she is just b*tchy and while she is usually polite and easy going with most people, she has this different attitute towards me (she used the word antagonistic on me once, that's exactly how she acts) but its playful and when we argue, people think we are serious, but we both know we are playing around. When she is mean she tells me to "get over it" instead of just being nicer, while she is nice to others

If she is doing it "jokingly" even a little bit, the goal was not to hurt you, but to get your attention.

That reminds me off a situation I was in once ! I never change and started making eye contact. I never liked him romantically though. But in your case she probably likes you and probably knew it for a long time and know feel more comfortable around you! One time I liked this guy and when he came up to me I would act all tough or sarcastic!
