Faith: What to expect when you are expecting.

Edentina

The bible tells Christians that to have faith is to be sure of the things we hope for, to be certain of the things we cannot yet see.

To have faith can be likened to a woman expecting a baby

Faith: What to expect when you are expecting.

Although she hasn’t seen her baby yet, she begins to prepare for him or her. She gets ready for the baby to be in the house and in her life before the baby is delivered. She begins to purchase everything that can supply the needs of the baby and even prepares a room. In the same way, faith gets ready before the promise comes, it prepares for what it’s expecting. It assures us of the things we hope for and convicts us of things we have not yet seen. But to have expectations by faith is not to pretend to be ignorant of obstacles or issues that one might face in the process. It isn’t an absence of problems one might encounter along the way ( think complications that can come with pregnancy including the possibility of loosing the baby) It is the willingness to view the bigger picture in SPITE of the obstacles.

Part of having faith as a Christian is recognizing that God is always at work even though He may appear to be silent. We can express our faith and open ourselves to the work He wants to do in our character as we wait, and focusing on his word and promises leaves our hearts lighter. It lifts our perspective off ourselves and the situations around us and gives room for God’s glory to take center stage. When we open our eyes to God and His goodness, everything changes. Our hearts open, and we begin to seek out traces of His presence through our days.

Keep the faith.
