I don’t socialize very often in real life which is one reason I am online almost every day because I don’t have a car and social activities cost money but I never feel lonely for four reasons, one being online adventures, another being my family who though flawed, still have some good qualities, and the last is I have my Christian music, my movies, my Reddit community, and my thoughts by mentors through books and quotations.
One guy told me, if I sought God’s kingdom, He would give me everything I need and want but that it would not necessarily be easy. World vision commercials taught me that there is no God who is willing to help somebody who is not willing to help themselves because if people are starving with their prayers being ignored and your too lazy to sacrifice yourself, why would God take care of you? He did not make an exception for them and neither will he make an exception for you.
My vacation buddies told me, duty is duty, even when it’s difficult and painful and unique to you and you alone, such as you having to be productive while sick or depressed, and going through challenges others do not have.
My uncle said, life isn’t always good and existence isn’t always pleasant, but the bad is just as real and important as the good, and you have to be realistic, about how much positivity you can actually absorb in life, and my cousin told me nothing comes for free and when her female friend wanted extra tips at her waitressing job, she worked very hard to lose 35 pounds in 5 months to do it.
My cousin said, everybody starts out with ugliness as their truth, and you have to work hard to face to the ugliness in your life, until it becomes beautiful. My other friend said, power isn’t a birth right. It’s a gift you give yourself by working your butt off. My Christian mentors also told me, the key to getting what you want, is simply loving it enough, and wanting it badly enough.
And another guy told me God would increase my intellectual capacity if I sought Him, which was also confirmed to me in three dreams I had.
So the best gift I ever got was mentorship.
