Germany is credited with starting the Christmas tree tradition as we now know it in the 16th century when devout Christians brought decorated trees into their homes.
I heard that Muslims have sought to avoid having a Christmas tree in their home for fear of deifying anything other than God.
But Chrismas tree: "That became a symbol of Christ — being triangular in shape it represents the trinity — and from there came the idea that the tree should be a symbol of Christ and new life."
I don't understand how it is Haram to put up a Christmas tree? Is it true?
Why is it "haram" to put a Christmas tree for Muslims?

Christmas Tree is part of christian religion.
So its only understandable if muslims and other religious people are not putting up a Christmas tree.
Muslims are also not putting the crucified jesus on their walls.
Its just not part of their belief. Christians are also not having a quoran on their nightstand.

If I understand what my Muslim friends have told me, the Christmas Tree is a symbol for the Son of God, namely Jesus Christ. However, Islam only considers Jesus Christ as one of the many prophets, real or imagined, before Muhammad who was an actual person. Not the Son of God.
I voted A, knowingly as a Muslim. First of, I am preparing heavy wine for coming Christmas and NYE so I don't give a shit what dark age religious fanatics think. And second of all, it's nothing about the tree, it's about Christmas in general, the radicals think it's a way to resist other cultures influence by making their traditions forbidden within the society. I don't know what's your interest in the tree in particular since they don't celebrate it at all except for courtesy of maybe friends and neighbours. But yeah your analysis are valid.

Christmas has become more of a cultural thing I feel, so I think it depends how one looks at it.
If anything, look at the act itself, it's just a fucking tree and cultural thing, not necessarily done in the name of religion.
By that logic, you could say anything that originated from something bad, even if it's not a bad act itself, is haram.
The Quran tells you not to be extravagant, as far as I understand, yet have you ever seen or been to a Pakistani wedding, a lot of them in my experience are and the people are often Muslim, it's probably due to the fact that Christmas isn't common amongst the cultures of a lot of Muslims, which is why they see it as bad.

I don't know; I'm not a Muslim. I did, however, once see a magazine ad (a friend went on a birthright Israel trip, and one stage of his flight was on a Jordanian airline) offering "Fresh UK Halal turkey for Christmas", which would suggest that if this is an issue, it's not a universal one.
It is because we are forbidden to imitate the disbelievers in their religion and culture. Christmas falls into both those categories. Read what you wrote carefully, you yourself answered your own question. Their are only two celebrations for us in a year. no other celebration/festival counts.

I have no clue. I know they don't eat hotdogs but otherwise I don't have the foggiest idea. However we have very few of them here, course the government said stop it after they have seen how it went for European people
I have no idea if it is haram but I can understand why it would be. your basically taking on a custom of another religion and most religions are not happy about that so its discouraged.
I have no idea if it's true or not but my understanding is a Christmas tree is part of the celebration for the birth of Christ so I don't understand why it would be forbidden

It probably has to do with Christmas being a Christian holiday or even worse a pagan holiday, and Muslims are neither Christians nor pagans so they don't need to decorate their place for Christmas.
Christians stole the customs used by the Pagans to celebrate the winters solstice. This includes the use of a now 'Christmas tree'
It's just one group of liars not wanting to use certain lies from the other group.
Whoopidy doo.

Not muslim, but some Christians are against the trees as it has origins in pagan altars/ sacrifice. Also Christ was not born in December, but rather late September/ early October. He was likely born on the Feast of Tabernacles.
Islam views Jesus as a great prophet, but the Christmas Tree signifies the birth of the Son of God, Deity Incarnate, something that is anathema to Islam.
