Why do "Christians" and other "Religious" people constantly disobey their own religion?

you know, that whole Galatians 5 list where Paul says "they who do such things shall NOT inherit the Kingdom of God".

Yet Christians are the biggest lot of sinners on the face of the planet.

I guess you think Jesus dying on a cross saves you, so you permit yourselves to commit any act imaginable, but the authors of your own religion said it doesn't work that way. That without good works you CANNOT be saved.

So you go commit adultery, fornication, drunkenness and drug addiction all you want, but you are NOT a "good christian" nor a "good anything else" either.

'Truth is, most "Christians" can't list the ten commandments nor anything meaningful that Jesus or his disciples taught anyway. They mistakenly think being born in the U. S. or Europe makes them a "christian".

I am sad to know that you once where a Christian but I am happy that you took the interest and iniciative to bring up this topic.

It is good to be real and honest about this matter, with no judgments attached.

I am a christian and I am sorry if any believer ever misunderstood or mistreated you. I must say I was sad to read some of the comments here that where not proper towards you.

About this question of sin. Believers do sin, I would say even as much as everybody esle and no christian can say they sin less than others. God did not promisse absence of temptation or that we, as christians, will be free from sinning during our life here. What he promissed was ultimate freedom from our sinful nature as human beings. That is, as a christian I am not defined by my faulty human condition (so called "flesh") but that my identity is found in God wich gives me hope and ultimate freedom and detachment from my imperfect condition (in the "spirit").

Thats why Christ came, to relieve us of the burden of carying our salvation with "good works" while in our imperfect human nature.

I encourage you to try it out and expose all this to God with all honesty. Dont worry, he will not strike you with a lighting bolt from heaven. He knows you and He is very aware of your struggles.

Just try it. Pray. There is hope in God.

The Old Testament says everything God made was "very good" and a good God cannot create a free moral agent born in the condition of depravity. That's INSANE.

Because …. No one is perfect. We fall into our own ways and desires sometimes. Paul also said.. “I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. For I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do — this I keep on doing” (verses 18-19). Paul is a saint, but he's not sinless. He wants to do good, but he sometimes sins.

You can’t equate "stumbling" with "license to sin" they differ.

As jesus said "a sick person needs a doctor" we never said we never sin... about ten commandments jesus listed six... he never expected students to know nor do all ten , that were for israelites in exodus 20.

Rabbi singer shoulda quoted book romans on this issue... but he wants to sell his corrupt book for money... a book i read filled with "contradictions" that do not even conflict. The bible is either clarifying parallel parts with different words or adding details. But rabbis want money as above.

Some are swept away by the spirit of the age. They think that Divine Law is no longer applicable simply because "it's x-current year". As a side note, I have yet to hear a single unbiased argument as to what x-current year has to do with anything.

For others, it's because their religion is more of a cultural belief and practice.

But ultimately, it's because we are fallen and imperfect beings. Some are are better, by the help of God's grace, to resist sinful actions, words, thoughts, and temptations, but we will all still sin at one point or another and to one degree or another. Fortunately, in the Catholic Church, we are blessed with a rich devotional tradition and the Sacrament of Confession.

The book of Ezekiel says otherwise. It states you are justified by your own good works and damned by your own evil works.

Since God is Almighty, then he does not need a sacrifice to forgive sins. He can simply speak forgiveness into existence, and you are forgiven.

There's nothing like that in the Old Testament. The Book of Deuteronomy says if you obey the law and commandments, you'll be blessed, and if you disobey the commandments you'll be cursed. It's as simple as that. OBEY THE LORD
