Do you have the suspicion that many of the people you come across, the strangers you meet, are possibly "messengers" sent to help you in some way?

Not necessarily guardian angels, but that your encounters with those people isn't merely a coincidence, and they're there when you find them because their "task", so to speak, is to aid you in your spiritual development, or prevent you from making a bad decision, or to encourage you to take a particular path at an important crossroads.
Maybe they're a small, but essential feature of the programme we're all living our lives in, a feature (or possibly a bug) that hints there is so much more to reality than what most of us believe. Perhaps they're the personification of some abstract principle, or NPC's, or people from a higher, n-dimensional reality who happen to be trapped here.

I can see this being totally fine and inocent. But... this could also be some of the bat-shit-craziest of crazy shit. It's a fairly narcissistic view of the world though, isn't it?

Strangers are seen as serving a purpose in the plot of YOUR (anyone's) life-journey. But what about them? They're people who are central characters in their own life's journey. It would just take way too much intricate path-crossings to have people both: living their own lives (their story) while also playing crucial roles in someone else's life stories, by being in exactly the right place at the right time to be one of those "strangers" who help them. I guess it depends on your personal spiritual beliefs. But that God would be one HELL of a micromanager. 🙂

haha, I don't believe in God myself. You can substitute "God" for whoever/whatever is responsible for setting up and/or maintaining this complicated tangle of crossing life's paths. I just assumed you must have some sort of God at the head of all of this. Otherwise... what a happy (super-complicated) accident! 😋

There's an old Sufi story about a man who wanted to help others, but worried about pride. So he prayed that God would guide him to be what people needed- a guide, a symbol of reassurange or wisdom, a cautionary example, whatever- without him knowing. And God thought it was such a good idea that He decided to make it happen for everyone.

So many times in my life that just when I needed help with different things, someone would come along out of nowhere to help me. Or when I moved into a rental house, had the perfect neighbor and friend that was always there for me and my son and always with a smile.
On the other hand, I recall people saying to me that I saved them by helping them out.
I have pondered the question for years "Why are we here?" and one day the answer came to me in a loud, still voice (not audibly) and I just knew that I knew - we are here to help each other get through this life and that is our purpose
Like the old saying goes "When the student is ready, the teacher will appear". ☮️

I'm agnostic that was raised Christian; I never believed in miracles but instead saw certain actions as an act of guidance or assistance from whatever deity one may believe in. For example, a person may be crying and thinking about seppuku, then some random person ask what's wrong, then decides to sit and chat for however long it takes to see that person smile. We may never know how our presence influences another, but just have faith that what we do is enough.

Unfortunately I've had far far more encounters with hostile spiritual entities. They tend to go wild when you notice them and pray to dispell them, even when you do it silently.
