I am a strong supporter of pacifism. Within reason of course, but to move away from violence is an incredible choice that has many rewards. Living without much of the fear that mindsets based on violence tend to crest is a big part of that. The fear is what tends to grip those who consider violence as a means for anyone to solve anything. So although I support pacifism - again, within reason, I think it’s a hard choice for many to commit to and usually requires either a high degree of education or a culture that ingrains it in their society. As to the rewards, I cannot speak to that for everyone, but I know that when I started living my life based on peace instead of violence and hate, everything changed. There was a struggle at first to really deal with the issues that caused the problems and the echos of living for so long like that but peace has beautiful rewards if your willing to embrace it.

Tough question to answer without defining what success is.
Happy people tend to be successful and they tend to be financially well off. People who are well off tend to be more charitable. So the correlation is there.
I’m not sure pacifism and success are mutually inclusive, intersecting events. I think it’s more having the right amount of money and involvement in your community.
So, I think success can beget pacifism. It’s a unidirectional causation that doesn’t hold with every person. And it varies. Some successful people become greedy as fuck.
Hippies tend to be selfish, broke pacifists. Would you call that successful? Would you call Willie Nelson successful?
I think the take home message is not whether you’re a pacifist, but strive to be smart and successful so you have the agency to make that determination for yourself. Not necessarily, it is true that God sends you as a gift to some people. But in the same time it takes a lot to do well by others.
