No one needs this size house - 17,000 sq. feet - if he is indeed serving God. I have never heard him actually quoting verses in the Bible, the sign of a flim flam man who can just charm people with his words.
You cannot serve both God and Money.
No one needs this size house - 17,000 sq. feet - if he is indeed serving God. I have never heard him actually quoting verses in the Bible, the sign of a flim flam man who can just charm people with his words.
You cannot serve both God and Money.
Pretty big house, not sure if it's needed. I will say this, a person who is faithful to God and is truly called to preach the gospel, God can and will bless them. Look at job in the Bible, he was extremely faithful man to God that the lord blessed abundantly. Even when the devil tried to destroy him and tear his faith apart, he still trusted in God. When devil say he couldn't shake jobs faith after everything was taken, God blessed him 10x over.
So I do believe it's possible that God can bless you to have a wonderful life as long as you don't become greedy, cocky, or boastful and forget that it's God who got you where you are today. I think some people believe or think you shouldn't have anything or be blessed at all because you believe in God.
Now Jesus also did warn us about false prophets and teachings, people who use God and the Bible for their own selfish purposes. As believers, it's our job to test people to know if they came from God or not. If it's true that Joel really is just a feel good talker and doesn't mention the Lord or salvation, then that's something he will have to take up with God one day.
I'm not a fan of his by any means. But all of his money comes from his books and personal ventures. His money does not come from the church.
I don't really mind people crapping on his preaching because like I said I'm not a fan either. However from a Christian standpoint, disliking someone just because they are successful (by no dishonest means) is wrong.
it's not right to crap on people either though as a christian, christians should be nothing but kind and respectful to everyone including their enemies because their God will fight and deal with their enemies on their behalf. Even pointing out each others faults as we are now is a sin God says we must first remove the wood in our own eyes before we remove the wood in other peoples eyes. So Believes and Followers of Christ need to be the least judgmental people on earth because their God constantly informs them that judging others (pointing out their faults is a sin). and now saying this I realize that I have also broken these laws many many times and I need to fix that!! it's not right.
The Bible is clear that we need to be holding other Christians accountable for what they do. The Bible in no way condemns judging, but rather says to be careful that you are not in the same sin that you are condemning others for otherwise you will not be able to properly help them out of that sin.
@Topaz1979 You make a good point. But I don't think we are to turn a blind eye to what is going on in the world, which includes scammers and Charleton's. You are right about them getting judged in the end.
@LazerBean Also a good point.
The bible does condemn Judging.
Matthew 7:1-5
1 “Do not judge, or you too will be judged.
2 For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.
3 “Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?
4 How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye?
5 You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.
God is the only one who can Judge people because he is not like us, he is wiser than we are and he is perfect, we are imperfect so how can we be allowed to judge others when we ourselves are imperfect
"caused judgment to be heard from heaven;
The earth feared and was still
When God arose to judgment,
To save all the humble of the earth"-Psalm 76:8-9.
Remember when the people in the bible wanted to cast stones on the woman who committed adultery? Jesus said he who has not sinned should cast the first stone!, if you have sinned then you have 0 right to judge, the only right we have is to save one another through the word of God.
if you see a fellow Christian or even a non Christin doing what God says is wrong you need to tell them and tell them in a Godly way, God can see within our hearts and minds if you correct someone in a non Godly manner you are sinning.
here's an example of how Christians should be confronting/correcting one another, www.crossway.org/.../
"5 You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye."
Is this verse saying we should ignore other people's sin, or is it saying that we need to help others out of their sin but first make sure we are not ourselves in that exact same sin?
@dubiousintentions I believe that all we can do is pray for them, we don't know why these people are doing what they are doing For me I find that it's very easy to forget that there is more that lies beneath the surface may be these people are being held captive, may be they are possessed by demons, may be they see what they are doing as righteous you never know what lies beneath the surface.
All we can do in such a situation is pray that God handles it in a way that he sees fit!. This is God's world he created and therefore nothing that happens in this world is Too much for God to handle,
us Christians are immensely blessed because you can pray to God about absolutely everything and anything and he will happily listen to you and answer your prayers, Our God is filled with nothing but kindness, wisdom, love, everything that is Good and Holy!!! it's such a blessing to have such a God on our side.
@LazerBean That verse you quoted is telling us to do both the things you said but remember that to God all sins are equal a murder in Gods eyes is just as bad as a liar, So according to God all sins are the same they are all equally bad.
If you know that you are not going to be correcting someone's sin in a Godly manner then don't correct their sin. But If you are going to be doing it in a Godly manner by all means correct them.
According the bible and biblical online articles There is Good Judging and bad Judging the Good Judging is a way of correcting and helping someone who you see is going astray to go onto the right path so that they can be saved and go to heaven. In order to first help someone you need to judge them you need to point out their sin, but you are not pointing their sin out in a way that just condemns them you are doing it in a Godly way, that article i sent a link to explains this further in a beautiful way, so you are helping them notice it but you are using Gods word God's power and prayer to lead the person on the right track.
And then Bad Judging according to the bible and biblical online sources is when you pick out or identify or condemn someone's sin and you tell them about it, or you tell others about it behind their backs (gossip) but there only difference here is that you did not judge the person in a Godly manner you just pointed out their faults.
also confront yourself first means "Personal humility is necessary when confronting someone else’s sin. Before you judge the sin of another, first repent of the sin in your life (Matt. 7:3–5). Prayerfully examine yourself and confess any known sin. Forsake self-righteousness or hypocrisy, which would dishonor God and hinder your message. Prepare yourself to speak with your friend by asking God to grant you wisdom, protection from sin, and genuine love for her (1 Kings 3:10–12; Gal. 1:6; 1 John 4:11)".
@LazerBean That verse you quoted is telling us to do both the things you said.
So the verse that we both quoted is telling us to both ignore people's sin and also help them out of their sin? Is that what you just said? And if so, please go ahead and explain how we can help someone stop doing something that we are not supposed to notice they are doing.
@LazerBean I already explained everything you are asking in this comment I made "That verse you quoted is telling us to do both the things you said but..."
I don't even consider myself christian but I remember this:
(Ephesians 5:11) Take no part in the worthless deeds of evil and darkness; instead, expose them.
There is a difference between not letting fear take you over and being ignorant. Somewhere the bible stated something like "people perish for their ignorance"
And this whole bible quoting thing is about to end anyway because of the mandela effect as I mentioned before
According to the bible, Elon Musk wasn't joking? ↗
Actually I mean it is about to end for some of us but the whole point of it is to keep the masses sheepified.
Nowadays there is LGBT shit and worse than just blasphemy in the bible, and all books have it no matter how old the print you manage to find, they are changing supernaturally. They even directly say that we must obey the government even if they give us immoral orders. I had Christian's tell me this and quite the bible. Which is retarded.
The bible is not saying that at all it's saying that you need to correct people's sins only if you are willing to go about it in a Godly manner, link is right there in one of the comments I sent explaining how to correct a person by solely using the word of God. So if you do it this way then you are judging in a good way and in a way that is acceptable to God again that link I put up there explains how to Judge others and then help them in a Godly way that appeases the Lord.
However the bible also says that If you judge someone by only pointing out their sins or faults then you are sinning because your aim is to only to point out the persons faults/sins, your aim is not to help the person in a Godly manner and when you judge like that which is considered bad judging you have basically made yourself a judge which is sinful for all the reasons I explained earlier and more eg" we are imperfect, judging is God's job, and another reason is because we cannot see inside the person's heart so we only judge through external things like their words and looks and actions we cannot see the deeper aspects of their being like their inner thoughts, their heart like how God can. "I the Lord search the heart and test the mind, to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his deeds.”-Jeremiah 17:10
not at all, if you are going to judge someone in a bad way then don't judge them leave them alone and leave it to God BUT if you are going to judge someone in a Good Godly way then by all means do it help them out!, that's what I'm saying in a simplified way. The bible is not telling you to correct something you are ignoring!.
@Topaz1979 Matt 7 is about hypocrisy. It doesn't say "don't judge at all", it says to judge consistently. Also the "judgement" referred to here is about discernment, rather than condemnation.
You ever notice that he never reads from scripture? He is a marvelous talker and people believe in him as he is a good pep leader. But the Bible says the Devil also believes and shudders, knowing his eventual fate. It is not enough just to say you believe, because the Bible says even the devil believes.
Not only does he believe, he trembles at the presence of God Almighty!
“ Thou believe that there is one God; you do well: the devils also believe, and tremble. But wilt thou know, o vain man, that faith without works is dead?” James 2:19-20. He also hires associate pastors for millions of dollars a year. Sounds like serving mammon to me..
@LazerBean There seems to be some confusion here. "God says that he wishes none to perish but all to come to repentance. "That All Should Come To Repentance. The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9 NKJV Now, we are to follow God's will. If His will is for none to perish then shouldn't we expose those who would hasten those to perish for believing a lie? The Bible says that in the end times that even the elect will be fooled by Satan's lies.
@ericclayton please provide Bible quotes to justify what you are saying and biblical article links? because what you are saying is untrue according to the Bible, everything I’m saying here is according to the Bible and according to biblical texts if you want to see what the bible says then read over my previous comments where I explain bad judging and good judging, and if you read the Bible for yourself and you google the Christian biblical articles for yourself then you will see the truth of what God is trying to teach us for your own self with your own eyes.
It is clear that in the Bible, God teaches us Christians how to judge others in a way that is acceptable there’s even an article link I posted which uses the Bible to show Christians how God says they should judge other people in a Godly manner, in manner that intends to help them correct their errors.
I even quoted the article to show a glimpse of how a Christian is to go about confronting their own sin (removing the wood from your own eye before removing the wood in another persons eye) before they go about confronting and identifying the sin of another person, the Bible highlights steps and that article I sent a link to points those steps out by making use of the the Bible so that Christians know how to judge others in a way that please God and they’ll be doing it in a manner that is humble and that is without hypocrisy the steps are there in the Bible and that article I sent a link to highlights those steps if you read it you will see it for yourself. and I explained what God means when he says do not judge, when God says do not Judge he’s talking about the bad judging that us people do when we look at a persons sins and fault and point those sins out that’s not right and it’s a sin ( hence the Matthew verse, How can you say to your brother, ‘Brother, let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when you yourself fail to see the plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye. ).
Because if you just point someone’s sins out without following all the other steps that God said we must follow then you are judging someone and you are being a hypocrite and clearly you are just judging for the sake of it not for the sake of actually genuinely helping the other person in a way God told us to in the Bible, If you know that you are not going to be following the steps God gave us, showing us how to judge others in a manner that intends to help them correct what God says are faults and sins then all you need to do is not judge that person entirely leave them alone and leave them to God.
The Bible is straight forward I feel like you skipped over everything else I said in my previous comments. If you want the Bible quotes and evidence to substantiate what I’m saying concerning judging solely for the sake of helping someone overcome their sins here’s a biblical article, it’s the same one I’ve been referring to in all my previous comments and on this comment. www.crossway.org/.../
And @ericclayton Judging in the bible means "To judge means: to separate, to pick out, select, choose. By implication, it means to condemn, punish—avenge, conclude. It also carries the idea of having discernment. The passage where Jesus said, “Do not judge, or you too will be judged” (Matthew 7:1) goes on to show us how to have discernment. Love is the proper motivation for not judging and for using good judgment". Here's another beautiful biblical article explaining judging in a biblical sense.
www.biblestudytools.com/.../...n-in-the-bible.html
@Topaz1979
“Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye SEPARATE, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,” - 2 Corinthians 6:17 KJV
SEPARATE
Look. With respect, you don’t know what the hell you’re talking about.
@Topaz1979 Well said sister.
@Agagagagaga I am referring to information from the bible, You are responding to me as if you have not read all my comments and as if you have not read any of the biblical articles I sent links to. The bible is as straight forward as night and day, it is clear in it's explanation of things and so are the biblical articles and I have done my best to explain those things here on this comment section.
Everyone who loves God and who reads the bible has their own personal relationship with God in my heart I believe that I have truly done the best I can to explain the word of God, If you judge that I do not know what I am talking about then that is your perspective.
@dubiousintentions, Thank you I am very grateful that you understand the biblical points that I have made here, I'm giving all the credit to the Lord, all I did was mention Gods word throughout so, God the author of the most profound book in the whole word called the holy bible definitely deserves all the praise!. May God bless you! 💞.
@Topaz1979 The links you posted don't work. I appreciate your nuanced approach, many stop at "Judge not", and scrap the rest of the chapter.
@ericclayton and you still have not even provided any form of evidence to prove what you are saying? I have provided biblical evidence for my words via the Bible and biblical articles where is your biblical evidence? “ Matt 7 is about hypocrisy. It doesn't say "don't judge at all", it says to judge consistently”
Which part of Matthew is telling us to judge consistently because I did not see that biblical verse please copy and paste it so that I can see that it is Gods word? Or link an article explaining abs proving what you are saying?
“Also the "judgement" referred to here is about discernment, rather than condemnation”
Please provide a biblical quote or a Bible article explaining and showing what you are saying here as well? So that I can see that it is indeed Gods word and not just your word?
And it did not stop at judge not because God in the Bible did not stop at judge not, God said only judge if you are judging another person with an intention of confronting/correct their sins.
Even if you have no interest in reading the article I put up there the truth will remain! God told us the steps that we are to take when confronting or correcting the sins of other people, those steps are in the article that you appear to have no intention of reading.
@LazerBean @dubiousintentions @topaz1979 - we should be joining forces, not nit picking each other, A house divided cannot stand. No one is perfect. Iff we were we would not need the blood of Jesus to be a propiation for our sins.
@Daniela1982 Amen sister! @topaz1979, @LazerBean - sorry sisters.
@Topaz1979 I owe you no argument.
@lazerbeanYou have a valid point. It will be the Christians who will be the jury at the Judgement. Christ tells us to not hang with certain people so we will have to judge these people in order to see if we should have fellowship with them or not.
Money can be a real test for a person. Sometimes, God tests people this way. The point is not how much money we make, the point is what we do with that money! Do we spend it all on luxuries for ourselves, or do we actually use it for a good purpose, to help others, to make the world better? A lot of famous evangelists have failed this test. Osteen is not the only one. Remember Jim and Tammy Bakker, with the mansion and the air-conditioned doghouse? And the country club to which every one of their followers was a member, and the hotel was not large enough for the purpose if everyone arrived there at the same time? I think the late Billy Graham is one of the few who actually passed this test. There was never a whisper of scandal about him. He said he never wanted to do anything that would offend the Lord! Others could take a lesson from him.
Generally speaking I don't think I'm in a position where I could say what a person needs or doesn't. For me Joel Osteen is more an entrepreneur than a pastor because many of his sermons are self-help messages.
It's hard in a world where people get idolised easily to not fall for luxury. In my opinion he should enjoy what he has now and I hope he one stay will see the burden that comes with luxury.
It's true that bible doesn't condemn luxury but it points out the danger that comes with it. I wouldn't attack Osteen because of his lifestyle but because of his teachings. Because those are a way bigger problem.
I understand that you think it's unreasonable for a pastor to live such a lifestyle which I would agree but rather because I see it as a danger that a pastor because self oriented and less focus on the people he's there to shepherd.
Opinion

I think he has no ability because smart people don’t have to sell their religion or their body to pay the bills.
He's no different to me than any other televangelist with money buying mansions, multiple cars, and jets. As a Christian it's my belief that people who are claiming to have faith should in no way be living a life of worldly luxury like that. We should not be aspiring for great wealth and wanting all these useless things of the world. To live a life of worldly fame is to actually serve the devil.
Which, Joel Osteen does by the way.
As Jesus said, "They have received their reward in full." and " It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of heaven” (Luke 18:25).
Yep, that is the perfect evaluation. There has also been speculation over the years that Joel is actually a Satanist pretending to preach. Multiple people have said they've been kicked out of his church for even speaking scripture. And if you notice, he never actually teaches the Bible. He sprinkles in "spiritual"-sounding words so it still looks like he's about faith, but he never actually teaches the Bible.
Those are my thoughts.
His one house this plumber working for him actually found money in a wall that supposedly Osteen hid in there himself and think God should come before money and he don't need a house that huge and worth that much money.
You can't serve both God and Mammon.
@dubiousintentions Yes, I agree with you.
I don't have an issue with religion. I have an issue with organized religion because there are far too many cases of the people organizing it for their personal gain. People doing their best to suck every dollar out of peoples pockets to better themselves. So when you are hardly making ends meet and making donations to a church, you are really buying the people in charge a new BMW. But the truth is that you can say the exact same about campaign donations on both sides of the isle and the politicians you are donating to.
And this guy here is probably one of the reasons why I do not go to church would not go to church because I see you a very selfish man who is taking advantage of many people and is still doing it today I mean he gets paid money lots of money for his ideas on what he believes that that money that people give they're giving it to the church they're not giving it to him but he's thinking it a different way and if he thinks a different way then I don't want to even listen to his words I think it's a shame don't get me wrong I'm sure that he has done something good with some of the money and I guess it's his choice what he wants to do with the rest of it
I don't think him having a nice big house is a problem.. Christians don't need to be poor and struggling.. But, what he teaches is a bit of a problem.. And the offering he takes up also.. That's why he's always smiling after seeing all that money.. 😂
No doubt, God doesn't want people literally living poor and struggling, as you have some Christians who believe you're supposed to be in the dirt while they "wait on God" to come and fix their problems. No. But I don't think Christians are meant to live in mass luxury like secular superstars and icons.
@ManOnFire I feel like if a Christian had the talent and got really rich off of it, then I think it's cool for them to live lavishly... It's the money they earned.. Who knows maybe he donates to a lot of Charities..
God is not going to give you anything if you are going to spend it on your pleasures. James 4:3 - "You ask and do not receive, because you ask with the wrong motives, so that you may spend what you request on your pleasures" He is more of a motivational speaker than a Christian pastor.
@Daniela1982 Well, that's the thing.. We don't know what else Joel does with that money.. He could be doing all types of good things.. Also a lot of his money came from his books.. I think James 4:3 had more to do with selfishly praying for blessings rather than some leisurely spending.. I'm all for living modestly being the best policy.. And, I agree that his teachings are not really teachings but motivational speaking..
@DubiousIntentions how many times are yiu going to create fake accounts in order to post this?
https://www. girlsaskguys. com/religion-spirituality/q4130848-is-joel-osteen-a-man-of-god-or-a-charlaton? utm_source=dynamic&utm_medium=androidapp&utm_campaign=question&utm_content=q4130848
2. Don't make accusations unless you know what you're talking about.
3. He made millions off his books not the church.
4. Have you heard of Katy responds? It's an organization Joel Osteen has that serves under privileged families. He has made multiple homes for these people.
5. What have you done for anyone?
6 your question is being reported as a duplicate. Quit trolling
No true Christian would live in that big a house, nor have a reason to hide money in the wall of his mansion. A real Christian would quote the Bible in his sermons. He doesn't. At moat he is a good talker. If I was going to troll I would do it as an anon. I only have this account. Why don't you report all the true trollers with all their dick and anal questions?
Ignore people who call you a troll. As far as I see you are asking good questions. And as a Christian myself I don't believe Joel is a true Christian. More of an opportunist. I had a friend whose dad was a pastor. He told me his dad doesn't have a pastor's job because he believes what the Bible says, but that he gets free room and board and a salary for telling people what they want to hear. I don't believe God would support such a one. Real Christians are humble. . Mark 12:41 41 Jesus sat down opposite the place where the offerings were put and watched the crowd putting their money into the temple treasury. Many rich people threw in large amounts. 42 But a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins, worth only a few cents.
43 Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. 44 They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything—all she had to live on.”
I don't have a problem with the house, but I have a problem with his teaching.
I knew a guy a few years ago who had a seven figure bank account but gave away 75% of what he earned. He didn't make a big deal about it and most people have never heard of him - just the way it should be.
There's nothing inherently ungodly in being wealthy. It's more about what we use wealth for.
For the very reason that he does not quote verses out of an open bible in front of him when on TV is why I cannot watch him.
Dr. Charles Stanley is a terrific pastor and quotes his whole sermon with an open bible in front of him and shares them for you to see it us what the bible says.
Joel Osteen is like Dr. Phil. They are both life coaches and that's it. Period!
He's an influencer for the rich. He gets paid through book deals just like all the other political puppets. The puppeteers see value in his ability to captivate an audience...
He claims to have 4.63 million weekly viewers online which can easily be inflated with bots. Yet even if you take that number at face value, you think 100% of people that watch him would by 25 copies each? OK, snap back to reality. Target marketing tends to produce about 5% interest in a product. So maybe 200K of those books sales are legitimate. The 99.8 million copies are a pay off from the people that control him.
Could be.
what no one realizes is they take money from the donations made, no one ever connects those two details. he is nothing more then a hypocritical grifter , his daughter also apperared on the hills tv back in the day
Didn't know that. Some producer must have been a fan of her father. Money has its privileges.
look at all that Grace of God
praying certainly works
HAHAHA funny but not surprising.
All I saw was he uses masonic hand signs.
Just like Kenny Dopeland who acts similar to gropey Joe and is an official 33rd degree freemason lol.
At least half of them are luciferian crossdressers aka illuminati trannies.
https://www.youtube.com/embed/OqmO6x1cg7sHe's a charlatan who knows little Scripture and even less about proper exegesis of the text, but sure does know how to separate the gullible and desperate from their money. He uses that money to live his lifestyle. The same house owned by someone who earned his or her money by providing honest goods or services would not bother me, but because of how Osteen does things I look at his house and want to vomit.
Someone taking advantage of the people, that’s crazy big , if he really was a speaker for god then he would not need anything more than a regular home to live in
I guarantee there is evidence of criminal activity in that house.
I'd like to watch that vile creature being drawn and quartered.
I think that people are fucking stupid for believing his line of bullshit. He is just a prime example of religious stupidity & why we need to tax churches
Their God doesn't care & hasn't cared in a long time, if he ever cared at all.
