sHalf of all college students can't name the continents, or tell you which states bordered their own. Less than half can name the current vice president, and even fewer can name the last one. Yet a shockingly high number can list out all the Kardashians.
That should tell you how seriously people take education these days. But it also stands to reason, given that they're going to schools that, at all levels, from K to college, care far more about "diversity and inclusion" than they do about education. Teachers are far more interested in having drag shows and making pride flags and BLM signs than they are about teaching algebra or geography or history.
https://www.youtube.com/embed/1pU0Ye_hUboGiven the contempt for education from their own teachers, and often from their own parents, why should kids care to learn anything?
Majority of Americans don’t know basic civics but we let them party in our political system anyway
What counted as a passing grade? And where can I get the questions? Who selected the questions? How were they graded? We’re the questions multiple choice, short answer? Who graded the questions? What were their qualifications/credentials? Was it a national survey? Regional survey? How were participants selected? How big was the sample size?
Also, for most American Christians, being a Christian is simply an identity - a box to be checked off on a form - and very little else.
Personally, I’d be more concerned with the near total lack of interest in the common good in American politics.
I've just taken the test and scored 12 out of 15. I think that's pretty good for an atheist. Does it mean I go to heaven?

You obviously didn't read the survey. It was not a Christian quiz like you said. It was a quiz on religion in general, including a lot that is downright trivia about both Christian and other religions. The majority of the survey was not even about Christianity.
Pew explicitly said that most people did pretty well on the parts that were Christian. They did FAR better than what your graph implies. People didn't do as well on the parts about other religions. Plus, even some of the question about Christianity were not about Christianity in general, but specific sects of Christianity.
Creating a survey like this is subjective as hell. If you are curious about some of the individual questions and results, then it's fine to satisfy your curiosity about those specific questions. But to interpret the aggregate results and try to draw conclusions from it is absurd.
I mean... yes, but that wasn't what this quiz was about. I went and took it and scored 100% on it. It's general knowledge about various religious beliefs.
Though I will say that yes, it is a problem if many believers in Christianity don't know or understand their beliefs, and there are many reasons why this might be the case.
Yeah if you can't pass then your not a Christian easy as that.
And If your actions are different from your words then your not a Christian. True Christians believe every thing and agree with everything in the bible.
You can't Pick and choose What to agree with believe and then call yourself a Christian. You can't Drink alcoholic or smoke cigarettes and call yourself a Christian.
Lol apparently you dont know much about the bible either than haha... or did you just forget that its through faith you are saved and that Jesus first miracle was turning water in to wine hahah
It's not really surprising, since most of the people who talk the loudest about how Christian they are, are the same people who completely go against 90% of Christianity's tenets.
Most of the people who do, just use their "Christianity" as a bullshit justification for being horrible fucking people.
In fact, if we look at the basics of the work, it turns out that the right education is not given, so it is a failure.
In the meantime, I would appreciate it if you could comment on my question.
Christianity isn't so much about reciting verses or knowing random facts about Israelites, Pharisees, or Corinthians. It's about your relationship with God. After reading the survey and results posted, it seems to me like you are describing the subject matter incorrectly. It's almost as if-- you skimmed over the survey without retaining too much knowledge from it... and RAN with own narrative. That's horrific. Its almost as if you believe in crazy shit anyways.
well it's actually perfectly logical. "believing" is opposed to "knowing". if they were into "knowing", they would probably not even consider religion to begin with. and if you decide for believing, it's only logical that you don't know anything about it xD
There is no need to read the bible to be a Christian, in fact I am a Christian only because I am anti-abortion, anti-feminist and anti-LGBT, the only thing I disagree with Christianity is marriage and traditionalism.
It's always amusing to me when I, as an atheist, know more than a Christian does about their own religion.
I could probably pass and I'm atheist. Although, I did go to catholic school for 9 years
Religious people are pretty ignorant, if not they were not religious.
natural to forget, no problem. people are busy.
When I did my time in jail there was Christian test books. Pass all six you get a bible with your name embroiled in gold on an NIV Bible
why should americans care about christian quizzes?
No. Americans aren't known for being clever.
Not really. Do you know which group of people are among the most knowledgeable about religion? Atheists and agnostics.
I mean define problem the worlds not gonna end by the religion evolving or dying out so I wouldn't stress it
Moat professing Christians aren't actually Christians nor believe in the actual Christian doctrine so not surprised. 🤷♂️
But what about the Jews and the Muslims and the Hindus?
No, you don’t talk about them, do you?
Chickenshit hypocrite.
@oddbeme Dude you’re a hypocrite and a religious bigot.
@Juxtapose How about sons goddamn equality? I mean isn’t that what Leftist shitstains go on and on about?
But no. They turn a blind eye to it all. Because it’s apparently racist to criticisms Islam and Judaism and Hinduism.
But not Christians. They are fair game.
Fucking hypocrites.
Kinda like leftists being socialists and commies, but not realizing they'll get the boot, too.
You aren’t an anti-authoritarian free market person, dipshit.
You’re a mentally ill leftist.
