Why are some people so stingy and is it possible to be a real God worshiper if you're stingy?

Like as a Christian - I have no problem working for 2-4 weeks and giving the entire thing to family or social events with others, or even people in my community who need it. I'm not stingy and I haven't been stingy at all ever since I became a Christian at age 14.

But I know people who act like they died in a war if they give even $5.00 to somebody else and I've had bible study leaders yell at me and hang up the phone when I ask them questions about the bible. They were jealous my life was easier than there's and thought I did not deserve to be on the same level as them because they viewed themselves as more sacrificial than me. And not to be racist - but 90% of the stingy people I know belong to one particular cultural group.

Within the Christian faith, there are all kinds of people including generous people and stingy people as well. While it could be possible to banish those who are stingy, wouldn’t that push away those who need God in their hearts the most?
Those who are not generous and those win other more harmful natures are not good examples of Christians, however they should be trying to be and do better. It’s good that you have no problem with being generous and don’t let those other people get you down.
It seems to be a different problem at my church. Practically every week (literally) they have a different fundraiser lined up for things such as the youth group, sponsoring World Youth Day travellers, Catholic Mission, St Vincent De Paul etc, and that is in addition to the weekly giving as well. While being generous is good, I don’t think there is enough money in the world for all the things that are asked for sometimes.

it is possible to be a real god worshipper and stingy, but that should be a vice that the person is seriously working to amend to better values. While a lot of people don’t have much left over to give, when they do have some gifts you can share, they should do so.

The church isn't just for. christians, it's for the lost. Many people in church are brought there by Christians, some haven't read. the Bible. For Christian pastors, there is life and death in the tongue. Many pastors don't make it to heaven. Millions of souls goto hell everyday. Your a mature person to see the. error of there ways, but people are highly complex, and busy dealing with life. Lots of darkness on earth. Instead, pray a blessing they need, the lords real life intervention brings the willing change. We plant seeds, prayers allow the lord to water them.

You can be a Christian and still have flaws that need to be worked on, being christian doesn't stop you from being a human being with flaws and there is always something you can learn in this life and crom God. God doesn't like a greedy/stingy person, in the Bible Hea always talking about gifting and and helping those in need. Reason being is cause God is generous and gives daily, if this was not true He wouldn't of given us Jesus to be lamb that took over all our sins. That's why tied and offering confuse people, they think "why does God need my money for, why is He taking from me?".

Truth is God doesn't need money from us and He isn't tkaing anything from us either, but it's to teach us the gift of giving and to learn not to be selfish or greedy. Look at the world today, this practice is lost thus there is a lot corruption and greed that has spread across the world causing a lot strife and pain for others.

I once went to visit this Full Gospel Assembly Church and they said there were sweets and drinks in the downstairs part of the Church so I went with my sister and her ex-bf to the downstairs and this one woman seemed stingy she wanted the regular members to take sweets and drinks before anyone else and I doubt it that we even got any sweets and drinks it wasn't a big deal but I think guest should be allowed to get sweets and drinks with no problem so I found that woman to be kind of stingy.

This reminds me of a story my sister was telling me when she was at church. A inspirational service had just concluded and everyone was exiting the parking lot. When I guess one car grew impatient with another car and layed on the horn. My sister remarked about it. How could that person be filled with such rage after such a great service.

I bring up this story because you're really wasting your time trying to understand why anyone does anything. You don't know thier life, you haven't lived thier life, you can't know what actuated them to do anything. Just remember they are your brother or sister and if you feel you can help them do so. Because it what God would want. My mother always used to say "give without strings attached or don't give at all". Always remember though you both share in the same faith your path is yours and thier's is thier's.

Not all giving has to be dollars. Sometimes, devoting your time and talents yields far better results than blindly throwing money at the problem does.

Money makes the world go round and most people refuse to work for free. Being stingy is for some people the only one option to make some financial surplus, on the other hand some people aren't smart enough to hide their greed. Need for money a truth some people can sell with elegance and others appear like greedy and limited a... holes.

Every personality has its reason and place in this world, just like every cell in the human body. Maybe if someone along your family tree wasn't stingy, you'd never had been born. There is a bigger picture my dear, pray for. thr wisdom to see it.

I can't answer why but yes, I think you can be stingy and still love/worship God. We are all flawed and make mistakes. The flaw of stinginess doesn't negate their love for/worship of God.
