Am I the only one who tends to have bad things happen when I listen to others?
I have that feeling that anytime I decide to follow someone else way of doing things because of pressure, I end up losing stuff or getting hurt.
Today is the perfect example, I have a usual time I reach work and my manager doesn't mind, never told me anything and is happy with my work. A colleague however told me that I should do an effort because everyone else reaches at a certain time, it's not nice for them. So, today, I was running a bit late and usually, I'd take it easy because I don't care that much to be honest unless someone express that it's bothering them. So fast forward today, I decided to speed up my pace and fell on the metallic escalator in the subway in front everyone, good thing it's holidays. And plus, I injured my knee. All this because I decided to listen to this lady despite never having an issue with anyone.
Another time, I wanted to ride a bike with my brother and a friend, I had a small bag that kept sliding off my shoulder. My brother tells me to put my bag in the basket and argued so much that I ended up doing it. Lord behold, my bag ends up getting stolen with my iPhone and my credit cards. Had to not only buy a new phone but renew all my bank cards.
Does these types of things happen to you guys? Because, I have a ton of stories like that and today was just a reminder that I should be hard headed now and then.

It is always good to go with your own instincts in decision making. And, having a reliable third party opinion and assessment is a wise thing to do.
Yeah, you're probably right. To be honest, I have good instincts but I don't follow it much since I don't trust myself that much. How do you define a "reliable third party" ?
Is it someone who gives good advice or advice that have worked for you?
In my work it is an attorney. In personal things I have two very close friends and set of four that I can rely upon. Those kinds of people if you have access to them.
I completely understand what you mean.. i am also not going to listen to anyone ever again. I will do everything my way.
