Christians say, “they aren’t controlling anyone”. But, some of them are controlling someone from playing games, forcing people to go to church, sexually abusing kids, and someone’s sex life. If yes, then named some things Christians are trying to control about someone.
Christianity actually speaks about being religious, negatively, these people that try to force their believes on others is being religious while Christianity all revolves around a connection with God and following in Christ's footsteps, spreading the word of God is our purpose but people twist it and try to benefit of it, these are what the Bible call, false prophets, they will twist the word of God and spread the word incorrectly causing more separation from God which is why God himself is against people being religious because the point of spreading the word of God is to bring more people to him, not separate them from him, religious minds use anger, frustration and their own bias opinions to twist the word and create a religious statement calling it the word of God when it's not, God doesn't force and if you see someone forcing or trying to force the words of God on someone or to you then you aren't witnessing someone that's truly following in Christ's footsteps or his word, just a false prophet that to themselves they believe their own word, if someone isn't being aggressive and just stating the words of God then that is who you should listen too or choose not to listen too because a true follower of christ and Christian will only speak the word, not force it on you.

I wouldn’t say sexual abuse is a Christian thing. That’s just a sexual predator thing.
Just like pedophilia is not a school teacher thing. But it can be a malpractice among teachers in the school system.

If religion or spiritual beliefs are used as a MEANS of control (rather than an honest attempt to seek the truth and live a holy life) then you’re entering cult-y territory.
When a religion is in its purest form, it should be a medium towards enlightenment, holiness, or some pathway to spiritual growth.
But, often times humans weaponized religion and use it as a tool for control, claiming that they speak on behalf of God.
Well inchristianity we believe in free will even though we would love for people to accept and follow God so a true Christian would control you. There’s just a lot of bad people that say they are Christian and will use Christianity to justify their behavior.

No more so than any other religion or even people lacking religion. There are good and bad people everywhere. And FYI, the whole basis of Christianity is actually choice and agency. So those who claim to be Christian and want to use force against others to believe and act a certain way are corrupting the religion and actually based more on satanic philosophy, not Christ.
I can plant my derriere in my driveway and say I'm a Bentley, but claiming it does not make it so.
