I never had children, so my experience is limited to observations of friends. Most young boys - 18-23 - are not eager to become a father, but I think between 23 and 25, guys start thinking more about planning their future and not simply living for the moment. As part of that change, I think most men embrace the idea of becoming a father. . . when they meet the right woman, of course.

Guys, was this true for you. Girls, do you think men are preparing for fatherhood by their mid-twenties?

My reason is kind of complicated so i'll present it as succinctly as i can

1. Old men can have children

2. Old men are usually wealthier

3. Hair is of primary importance for sexual attraction to be there

4. Men who go bald have more kids while they are younger

5. Men who don't go bald could more easily attract women at an older age

6. The fitness level of children born to older fathers (40+) is much lower, with significantly higher rates of neurodevelopmental issues, lower bone density, etc.

7. Thus the men who go bald end up having a higher percentage of healthy children

Both Cal and Jack are handsome young men.

Cal's pros:

Very wealthy who can provide financial stability and comfort for both Rose and her widow mom.

Has high social status and is well respected by his peers.

Well educated.

Loves Rose.

Cons:

Insecure.

Arrogant.

jealous.

bad temper.

controlling.

Jack's pros:

Easy to get along with.

Caring.

Humble.

Loves Rose.

Cons:

No financial security at all. Dead broke.

Literally homeless.

Depends on odd jobs like selling his drawings in hopes to make some money.
