Dear anti-smoker. Shut the hell up and mind your own business. Smokers get tired of hearing your judgmental bitching.
It's not judgmental bitching, don't smoke around people. No one should be forced to breathe in second hand smoke, that's unfair and damaging to their bodies. Is it really that hard for you to go to a smoking area, or just not smoke at all? If the answer is yes, then you're a weak human being.

It is the right, yes, right of every human being on this earth to protect and look out for their health and the health of their loved ones for without our health, we have nothing. The fact that you have personally chosen to disregard this fact, merely proves her point. She didn't say you can't smoke, she asked that you smoke in designated areas where both you and she can both do what you'd like to do. For her, breathe and be healthy, and for you, smoke and not be healthy. You have no argument about the benefits of smoking that hasn't already scientifically medically common sense wise been disproved as to "benefits" to anyone or anything of smoking. There is a simple option if you'd like not to hear "bitching," or you know, "caring" and that's listen to your DOCTOR and stop smoking. The end.

@BeeNee nahh it wasn't a failed argument. the argument was that its a public place and if we don't outlaw cars for the same reason as cigarette smoke then its time non smokers just stfu. what about women who have a lot of kids and we get taxed for it. should women get mandatory hysterectomies. how about the fact that women far outnumber men in the public sector. should women go back to the kitchen because the only reason women are able to work is by taxing men unfairly?
@dudeman You just have absolutely no clue. I have had two family members die of lung cancer, one of which didn't even smoke but her husband did for their entire marriage and the other smoked. Don't tell me or anyone else to stfu about smoking and how its none of my business. You don't get to lecture me about how it shouldn't be my problem or anyone elses. I have a right to protect my health and do the best I can for my family and yeah, I'm going to keep telling you and others like you to get out of my air space and my families air space with it because I have no desire to attend yet another funeral.

Here's the thing. What the fanatic anti-smokers are doing is taking something completely out of context, taking it to totally absurd lengths, and using it as an excuse to act like condescending, self-righteous, judgmental jerks.
The second hand smoke argument doesn't fly. What's it's really about is some people who just don't happen to like it. The data about second hand smoke is about people who live with smokers, or work in a bar where there is heavy smoke. Yet you have people who walk down a sidewalk and get a brief whiff of smoke getting all dramatic and coughing, waving their hands, and generally making a fool of themselves.
It's about people who just don't happen to like it, and the health issue is nothing but an excuse. There is no way you could make a valid health argument when it comes to getting a few whiffs of smoke outdoors. It's completely insignificant compared to all the other crap we breathe.
A lot of it is just opinion. I'm not a smoker. But I actually like the smell of tobacco smoke. I think it's a pleasant smell, in the same way I think campfires are a pleasant smell. On the other hand, people wearing perfume, cologne and even some deodorants are sickening. It’s far worse than smoke. But I don't go around being a drama queen, insulting them, and telling them that they have no place in civilized society.
If people want to smoke, fine. If it's bad for their health, that's their choice. If they live with others and smoke inside, that's a whole different matter. But that's not what the anti-smoking fanatics are all about. They just don't happen to like it. Deal with it. I'm more concerned about all the idiots who really are killing people by talking on their phones while driving.
This entire take is condescending, insulting and uses supposed logic that a 5th grader should see the flaws in.
The sad thing is you keep comparing cigarette smoke to things like cologne or taxes, but there is no health risk to those. You talk about people smoking and having the free will to do so, yet this unfairly takes away my ability to avoid such smoke that I don't want exposure to. At least where I live, thank goodness, people can only smoke in designated areas.. not in bars, not in restaurants, not at parks, not at university. These things get approved so easily because smokers cannot prove any health benefit to themselves or others only that what they personally are doing is damaging to others/themselves. There is a reason they can only smoke in designated areas because that gives people who want fresh air the ability to do so without unfairly being subjected to smoke. Smoking is dangerous and its optional until a smoker removes that choice for a non-smoker by smoking in their face. After all this, you're not even a smoker so its like why even bother fighting this is you don't smoke?

I compare to perfumes and colognes to show it's a matter of opinion. And also, just because I don't like it doesn't mean I freak out and go an anti-perfume crusade.
It's annoying as a non smoker in the same way that evangelical preachy Christians are annoying to normal Christians. I've known a lot of non-smokers who felt the same way.
It's not that big a deal. People are being over sensitive and making a mountain out of a molehill. Furthermore, the entire health aspect is ludicrous. If they just don't like it, then just say they don't like it, instead of all the drama that only makes them look foolish.
Your health is important, period. All this to me however is a relatively moot point. As I said, I live in a pretty much smoke free world now where smokers are banished to some corner to freely smoke their lungs out while I, and the majority of the population can enjoy our clean fresh air away from the dangers of their smoking which is essentially where the take concluded.
I sense you're a smoker. At least you probably don't have much longer to live. The world would be better off without you:)

Drinking is banned form public places. Well it is in Auckland anyway. If you walk the street drinking alcohol or something if the police see you they will come and talk to you, I think you can get a fine and they will probably tip the drink out.

Just because you haven't gotten sick doesn't mean anyone else isn't. The point is, you're forcing someone to smoke with you, you're forcing someone else to damage their body. You are forcing someone to inhale poison. When you pollute the air that people are trying to breathe you're killing them with you. It doesn't matter is it's 16 years or 16 seconds, if someone doesn't smoke they shouldn't be forced to breathe in second-hand garbage because someone is either too selfish and lazy to find a designated smoking area, or too weak of a human being to lay off of their crutch for a few minutes and smoke when no one is around.

Are you able to roll your window down when he does? I'm not very close to my mom and when I was visiting she was smoking with me, my 5yr old sister and 1 year old baby brother in the car. I was too uncomfortable to say anything but I did breathe out the window the whole time. Can you do that, or talk to your mom?

Way to generalize all smokers
A generalization doesn't talk about every single person, a generalization only identifies those specific cases mentioned so no I'm not talking about all smokers. And even if you didn't know what a generalization was the first sentence says "For the smokers who feel the need to light up any and everywhere they please in spite of designated smoking areas, or what kind of people are around them." So I even made sure to specifically address those people in case someone lacks an understanding on what a generalization actually is.

@RachelBrigs I've heard from friends that their buddies and others like to put weed in those portable hookah pens and smoke it that way. However I've never seen it in person as I try to avoid anyone smoking at all times.

Some people put the oil in there but if you see someone outside vaping I doubt that's what they're doing.

@RachelBrigs She was using a generalization. She certainly doesn't mean every single person who vapes is using it for weed, she's talking about specific people, and in her experience it's a lot. Where I live nearly every person smokes weed, I personally think it's stupid but they do. And those people that are pot heads have certainly used their vape pens as little portable bongs. The fact remains there are people who will vape weed around you without any concern who you are and there's people who will vade juice and do the same. Smoking shouldn't be done around others period no matter what you're using. They either go to the smoking area or don't smoke at all.
